What’s the caffeine content in Bang Energy Shots?

Each 3 fl. oz bottle of Bang Energy Shots contains 300mg of caffeine, which is the same as a 16 fl.oz can of Bang Energy drink.

At 300mg, this puts Bang Energy Shots among the strongest energy drinks available in the market, together with other ‘powerful’ energy drinks like Bang, Reign and Celsius.

Bang Energy Shots’ caffeine content is nearly equivalent to four cups of coffee in one serving!

Unless you have a high caffeine tolerance or you’re a regular caffeine consumer, I won’t recommend drinking Bang Energy Shots to avoid the possible undesirable side effects.

As much as high caffeine can supply you with a more potent caffeine kick, too much caffeine may lead to a caffeine overdose, which can be life-threatening.

A caffeine overdose could cause adverse effects like:

  • Fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Shakiness
  • Feeling sick or vomiting
  • Confusion
  • Panic attacks

The FDA recommends that healthy adults should consume a maximum of 400mg of caffeine per day, with only 200mg of caffeine per serve.

Personally, I like to have around 50mg – 100mg of caffeine per drink at a time. I find that caffeine amount perfect for me, without overdoing it.

Thus, if you’re drinking Bang Energy Shots, make sure to limit other caffeinated sources that you might be having throughout the day.

And just a word of caution, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding you should steer clear of Bang Energy Shots. Also, Bang Energy Shots are off-limits to children under the age of 18.

The warning on the label also states that those with medical conditions or taking prescription drugs shouldn’t drink Bang Energy Shots to avoid complications.

What’s the sugar content in Bang Energy Shots?

Bang Energy Shots are sugar-free but use sugar alternatives like sucralose and sugar alcohols. Sucralose is an artificial sweetener while sugar alcohol is a type of sweet carbohydrate.

Let’s take a closer look at each.

Sucralose is frequently used as a sugar substitute because it’s sweeter than table sugar and has fewer calories.

Though it’s safe and used in many of our foods and drinks, there are some studies that have found that artificial sweeteners like sucralose can trigger side effects and responses that are similar to the effects of consuming sugar, like obesity and diabetes in certain individuals.

However, there has been an ongoing debate regarding the effects of artificial sweeteners on our health.

With the growing use of artificial sweeteners in our foods and drinks, what we can do is be aware of our consumption and limit our intake.

Sugar alcohols, on the other hand, are made from sugars that either come from natural or processed foods like fruits and cornstarch.

Despite its name, sugar alcohols don’t contain any traces of actual ethanol (or alcohol).

Like table sugar, sugar alcohols are just as sweet though it has fewer calories compared to sugar. Some of the commonly-used sugar alcohols are xylitol, erythritol, sorbitol, and maltitol.

However, too much sugar alcohol in a day can cause stomach problems like bloating and diarrhea. If you notice that you’re sensitive to sugar alcohols, it’s best to limit your consumption.

So, from this brief analysis, we know that Bang Energy Shots are sugar-free, but they do contain 6 calories from the sugar alcohols that add up to the total amount of carbs.

Personally, I don’t think that that’s a lot of calories in one serving so don’t worry too much about Bang Shots having an impact on your calorie count.

You can still have Bang Energy Shots in moderate amounts even if you’re on a low-carb diet.

In my opinion, adding more than one sweetener isn’t necessary as each one is sweet enough on its own but I guess Bang Shots are made sweeter than it needs to be to mask their strong concentrated taste.

What Benefits Does CoQ10 Have?

CoQ10 helps in energy production and can also serve as an antioxidant for your body. CoQ10 is an essential nutrient that occurs naturally in your body and can be absorbed from the food in your diet.

As CoQ10 is important for your wellbeing, it’s beneficial in:

  • Decreasing muscle pain from statin use
  • Improving heart health
  • Protecting against aging-related illnesses
  • Treating migraines

Another article suggests that CoQ10 could contribute to better physical performance. CoQ10 can reduce oxidative stress in the cells and thus decrease fatigue, leading to the improvement of exercise performance.

However, the exact amount of CoQ10 in Bang Energy Shots isn’t stated as it’s just included among the ingredients in a proprietary blend. Thus, you can’t be certain if it’s enough for it to be beneficial for your performance.

What does SUPER CREATINE in Bang Energy Shots do?

The actual name of SUPER CREATINE is Creatyl-L-Leucine, which is Creatine bonded with L-Leucine. Creatine is a supplement used for enhancing exercise performance while L-Leucine is an amino acid.

SUPER CREATINE is an ingredient that’s trademarked by VPX Sport, the company that owns the energy drink brand Bang. It’s advertised as water-soluble creatine that turns into creatine upon ingestion.

However, complaints and lawsuits ensued after the legitimacy of SUPER CREATINE was questioned, with claims that the ingredient may create a harmful by-product after it’s broken down inside the body.

If you’re wondering about how much creatine is in Bang energy drinks, you can check out my article where I cover things in more detail.

How Many Bang Energy Shots Can You Drink In A Day?

Bang Energy Shots contain 300mg of caffeine, which is a really high amount. To ensure you don’t overshoot the caffeine limit, you should stick to only one bottle of Bang Energy Shot in a day.

One bottle of Bang Energy Shot is enough to give you a caffeine buzz that’ll keep you up and about for nearly an entire day.

You might assume that once the energy-boosting effects of the caffeine wears off, the caffeine is completely gone from your system. The truth is that it isn’t.

Caffeine has a half-life of 5-6 hours, which means in about 5 hours after drinking Bang Energy Shot, the caffeine still remaining in your system is about 150mg.

Hence, after having Bang Shots, it’s better to limit other caffeinated sources for a while until the caffeine you’ve consumed is completely eliminated from your body.

Furthermore, I don’t recommend having Bang Energy Shots within 6 hours before bedtime, as it can disrupt your total sleep time and might even cause insomnia.

Bang Energy Shots Prices

On Amazon, a 12-pack of Bang Energy Shots costs around $30. So, for one small bottle, the price is $2.50.

Comparing Bang Shots to other Bang energy drinks, regular Bang energy drinks are slightly more affordable than Bang Energy Shots by about $0.33.

However, I guess the price does make sense for the ingredients and effects it’ll give you in one small bottle.

Take note that the price mentioned doesn’t include shipping charges and waiting time, so it might cost more than what’s stated.

Bang Energy Shots VS Red Bull Energy Drink

 Bang Energy ShotsRed Bull
Caffeine content300mg80mg
Sugar0g27g
Calories6 calories110 calories
Price$2.50$2

Compared to Red Bull, it’s obvious that Bang Energy Shots contain way more caffeine, almost as much as four cans of Red Bull.

In some way, this makes Bang Energy Shots more effective in terms of caffeine strength than Red Bull energy drinks.

While Bang Energy Shots are sugar-free, Red Bull has 27g of sugar. Bang Energy Shots uses sweeteners instead to sweeten the drink.

As for Red Bull, the amount of sugar is a cause for concern, especially if you’re consuming them regularly. Red Bull, thankfully, has a sugar-free version, so you can opt for that instead.

Bang Energy Shots VS Monster Energy Drink

 Bang Energy ShotsMonster
Caffeine content300mg179mg
Sugar0g54g
Calories6 calories190 calories
Price$2.50$3.20

Monster energy drink is a strong energy drink, but it pales in comparison to Bang Energy Shots.

If the energy boost from Monster isn’t enough, then Bang Energy Shots is a good alternative. Just make sure you only have one bottle in a day.

However, Monster has a much higher sugar content, with a lot of calories to boot.

While Bang Energy Shots may have large amounts of caffeine, it’s healthier with regard to the number of calories it has. With Monster, you’ll need to worry about a sugar crash happening later on.

Monster is the pricier energy drink among the two. If you have more money to spare, Monster might be the energy drink you can go for.

Bang Energy Shots VS REIZE Energy Drink

Caffeine content300mg50mg

Calories6 calories11 calories
Price$2.50$1

Bang Energy Shots might have more caffeine than REIZE Energy Drink, but REIZE has a much more sensible amount of caffeine.

REIZE is perfect if you have a lower caffeine tolerance or prefer energy drinks with moderate amounts of caffeine.

For me, REIZE gives a perfect energy boost that helps me get through my day without causing any side effects.

Like Bang Energy Shots, REIZE is also sugar-free and has very few calories.

If we’re looking at the price range, REIZE energy drink is only around $1, including shipping straight to your door, while Bang Energy Shots is more than double the price of REIZE.

REIZE is clearly the more affordable option here.

Besides, REIZE is also more convenient than Bang Energy Shots. While Bang Energy Shots come in 3fl.oz bottles, REIZE comes in convenient sachets that are light and easy to carry around.

Final Roundup

I give Bang Energy Shots a 6 out of 10.

Bang Energy Shots are perfect if you want a massive energy boost. I did feel quite energetic and alert right after drinking Bang Energy Shot but it kept me awake during the latter part of the day which I didn’t like.

So I think Bang Energy Shots are more suited if you’re planning to stay up all night and not so much for your regular routine as it could leave you restless.

While it’s more convenient compared to Bang energy drinks, the high caffeine content isn’t ideal in my opinion.

Plus, the amount of amino acids, creatine, and CoQ10 in a bottle of Bang Energy Shots is not stated, so you really don’t know if you’re consuming enough for them to have a positive effect on your health.

It’s not a terrible energy drink per se and some people might love it, but it’s just not for me or those who can’t have a lot of caffeine.

Alternatives to Bang Energy Shots

There are many great energy drink alternatives out there, and you might find some that’ll better suit your preferences.

Here are some great choices:

Powdered energy drinks also make great options, as they’re more convenient and very versatile with regard to customization. Plus, they tend to be more affordable while having the same effect as regular energy drinks:

If you like powdered energy drinks, I recommend REIZE as it checks all the boxes that a great energy drink should have.

Give REIZE a try and you might find that it’s a smarter choice than Bang Shots.
