However, behind its wide selection of great flavors and detailed formula of nutritious ingredients, you may be wondering if Celsius actually works?

Celsius Energy does work as an energy drink by providing you with a boost of energy for your workouts and even helps increase your physical and mental performance. It has a moderate amount of caffeine and includes naturally-derived micronutrients to help you burn more calories and stay energized.

How many Calories are in Celsius Energy?

The calorie content of Celsius depends on the product variety. Generally, there are between 10 to 15 calories in all of the Celsius product lines.

Provided that the recommended daily calorie intake for healthy adults is 2000 to 2400 calories for women and 2400 to 3000 calories for men, Celsius Energy won’t leave much of an impact on your overall daily calorie count.

As Celsius has a small number of calories, you don’t have to worry about consuming a lot of calories at a time, especially if you’re following a specific diet. With that being said, Celsius isn’t a substitute for proper and nutritious meals, so if you’re feeling hungry, you should put down that can of Celsius and grab a bite.

How much Caffeine is in Celsius Energy?

The Celsius Energy product varieties contain between 200mg to 300mg of caffeine per 12 fl.oz.

Caffeine is a really useful ingredient as it has many benefits, from improving your vigilance and alertness to enhancing your physical performance. It even helps to improve your cognitive functions and helps you to perform better at mentally-demanding tasks.

However, don’t go consuming large quantities of caffeine at a time as that can be dangerous for your health especially if you have a lower caffeine tolerance.

Since everyone’s caffeine metabolism is different, the amount of caffeine you can tolerate will vary from person to person. If you aren’t careful with caffeine, you might end up with some unwanted side effects instead.

According to the FDA, the recommended maximum daily caffeine limit for healthy adults is no more than 400mg. Any more than that and you might end up with adverse effects like:

  • Restlessness and shakiness
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Dehydration
  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety

Is Celsius Energy sugar-free?

Celsius is completely sugar-free and uses sweeteners instead of sugar.

Each product variety under Celsius incorporates different types of sweeteners, namely sucralose, erythritol, and stevia.

Sucralose

Sucralose is a zero-calorie sweetener that’s sweeter than sugar and is usually used to enhance the flavor of food and drinks.

Unlike sugar, sucralose doesn’t cause any changes in blood glucose levels and therefore is considered suitable for diabetics. Though, I recommend consulting a doctor first before introducing sucralose into your diet if you have diabetes.

Regardless of how beneficial sucralose seems to be, you still shouldn’t have too much of it since there’s a lot that we don’t know about the long-term effects of these sweeteners.

Erythritol

Erythritol is a type of sugar alcohol and is typically used in low-sugar and sugar-free food products as a low-calorie sweetener. This sweetener is safe for consumption and doesn’t seem to cause any adverse effects unless you consume large amounts of it that could lead to an upset stomach.

Stevia

Stevia is a non-nutritive sweetener that contains virtually zero calories. Stevia products are derived from the stevia leaf extract and are considered safe for use.

Other Ingredients in Celsius

Guarana

Guarana is derived from a Brazilian plant and is known for being rich in antioxidants. It apparently also improves exercise performance and increases mental concentration.

Guarana naturally contains caffeine, so the addition of guarana into Celsius helps double the boost that you get from drinking Celsius.

Glucuronolactone

Glucuronolactone is a type of chemical that’s naturally produced in the body. It’s found in energy drinks with the function to enhance exercise and mental performance, but no evidence supports that yet.

Does Celsius Energy work?

Celsius Energy does actually work as an energy drink, thanks to its high caffeine content.

From my experience, Celsius definitely does what it’s supposed to do as an effective energy drink; it provides me with a quick boost of energy and increases my alertness when I needed it.

All in all, Celsius does its job well as an energy drink, though it isn’t without flaws. Its elevated caffeine content isn’t recommended for everyone, so if you have a low caffeine tolerance, Celsius may not be suitable for you. Also, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, it’s best to steer clear of Celsius.

Is Celsius good for weight loss?

In my opinion, I don’t think that Celsius directly helps you to lose weight but it can provide you with the necessary energy to exercise which can lead to weight loss.

Celsius claims that Celsius energy drinks are clinically proven to burn calories and body fat in addition to boosting your metabolism. I’m a little bit sceptical about this claim as it might lead users to think that just drinking Celsius alone will magically help them lose weight.

Caffeine in energy drinks can indeed increase your metabolism, meaning that your body is burning more energy even when you’re resting which may make it easier for you to lose weight. However, just relying on energy drinks to lose weight is not a good idea.

Still, your best bet is to eat a balanced diet and have a good workout routine if you want to shed those pounds.

How many Celsius Energy Drink can I have per day?

You can have one or two cans of Celsius Energy in a day based on the product line you go for. Take note that there’s a warning label on the back of the Celsius Originals can that states that you shouldn’t have more than two cans of Celsius per day.

Depending on the product variety, Celsius energy drinks can contain between 200mg to 300mg of caffeine per can. If you take a look at the warning notes at the back of the can, you’ll be advised to stick to less than two cans for 200mg and one can for 300mg.

The best way to reap the benefits of Celsius energy drinks is to keep your consumption as moderate as possible and stay within the recommended daily caffeine limit.

If you start experiencing any unpleasant side effects upon consumption, you should stop drinking it and drink some water instead. The side effects should wear off in a couple of hours but if the condition persists, consult your doctor.

Is Celsius Energy Drink bad for you?

Celsius energy drink is not bad for you if you consume it in moderation.

Celsius is sugar-free and has an average caffeine content which is not as bad an energy drink as compared to other energy drink brands. If you drink Celsius wisely, for example drinking Celsius occasionally when you need the extra boost for the gym, Celsius can actually do you good.

With that in mind, don’t go overboard with your Celsius energy drinks to avoid any adverse side effects.

Is Celsius healthier than a monster?

Celsius is the healthier option if it was being compared to Monster. This is because it contains no calories and sugar.

In comparison to Monster, it contains 190g of calories and 54g of sugar. Although in regards to caffeine, Celsius offers more at 200g while Monster only contains 160mg of caffeine.

With added vitamin C and B vitamins, Celsius takes its branding of being a fitness drink seriously. If you desire the most of an energy boost while not sacrificing nutrients then Celsius is indeed the healthier choice.

In the end, the decision is up to you which you are willing to take. If you desire a little bit more caffeine and don’t need the extra sugar and calories then Celcius is the one for you.
