Reign Energy Drink Calories

A usual 16 fl.oz can of Reign nets you somewhere between 0 to 10 calories, varying slightly depending on which flavor of Reign you get.

Given Reign’s low-calorie count, you’ll have a lot more flexibility to slot Reign into your daily routine and meals, its low-calorie nature not affecting your diet to any great extent.

For reference, the recommended maximum daily calorie intake for healthy adults ranges between 2000 to 2500 calories, being dependent on biological factors and various lifestyle choices. While Reign may be pretty great if you’re strict with your caloric intake, it also means you’re not exactly getting any actual ‘energy’ from Reign either.

As such, try not to hit the gym with only a can of Reign. Remember, energy drinks are great as a pick-me-up, but nothing can beat an actual meal in terms of actually giving you sustainable energy.

Reign Energy Drink Caffeine Content

Each 16 fl.oz can of Reign contains 300mg of caffeine that’s naturally sourced from green coffee beans and tea leaves.

From keeping you awake to improving overall reaction times, caffeine is definitely pretty important for an energy drink, with most of Reign’s benefits leading back to this one single ingredient. With 300mg of caffeine, Reign is one of the strongest energy drinks available on the market, right alongside the heavy-hitters of Bang and canned G Fuel.

As a workout drink, the extra caffeine may be pretty beneficial to your overall workout routine, caffeine being noted to increase exercise performance.

Even so, 300mg is a lot of caffeine, so unless you have a pretty high caffeine metabolism and have a decent tolerance for the stuff, it’s probably for the best you don’t go downing Reign cans in one go.

Of course, it’s not really about how much caffeine is in an energy drink, but how well your body can adapt to and use it to its fullest.

For reference, I prefer my energy drinks to have between 50 to 100mg of caffeine per serving, which I find is a pretty good amount to start with, especially if you’re new to the whole energy drink-thing.

That said, you shouldn’t have too much caffeine either, as the FDA recommends a max limit of 400mg of caffeine per day and having any more than that can lead to some notable side effects, namely:

Does Reign have Artificial Sweeteners?

While free of regular sugar, Reign Energy contains some artificial sweeteners, namely sucralose and acesulfame potassium.

As both sucralose and acesulfame potassium are zero-calorie sweeteners, they won’t have a drastic impact on your overall diet or daily caloric intake. How long does it take for Reign Energy to kick in?

Depending on your overall caffeine metabolism, it can take you anywhere between 10 to 15 minutes to start feeling the effects of Reign in your system.

According to the Harvard School of Public Health, caffeine is absorbed within about 45 minutes after consumption, and peaks in the blood anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours. However, as with all energy drinks, it’s difficult to give a definitive answer on when you’ll start feeling the effects as there are individual differences in caffeine tolerance and sensitivity.

So while the quote above is a good baseline to start with, your mileage will vary insofar as how you yourself will react to it.

In the case of Reign, its high 300mg caffeine content means that you’ll reach a much higher peak than what a regular energy drink will give you, so do keep that in mind, and try not to down a can of Reign in one go.

A can of Reign Energy will last you anywhere between 1 to 9.5 hours, depending on a variety of factors, but the most common period is usually 5 hours.

This is definitely more of an individual thing rather than a be-all-end-all number that definitively proves a can of Reign will last you this long.

The mean half-life of caffeine in the plasma of healthy individuals is about 5 hours.

However, caffeine’s elimination half-life may range between 1.5 and 9.5 hours, while the total plasma clearance rate for caffeine is estimated to be 0.078 L/h/kg.

Pharmacology of Caffeine

While you can’t really predict how long a can of Reign will last you without doing some serious math work or self-testing, it’s still recommended that you don’t drink one late into the evening as it could affect your sleep.

All-in-all, be sure to have your Reign at appropriate times, and if you really need some concrete answers, it’s always best to consult a nutritionist if adding Reign to your diet might be beneficial for you.

Does Reign help you lose weight?

Although drinking a can of Reign may help you with burning off excess fat during exercise, drinking a can by itself won’t do much in helping you lose weight.

All roads for energy drinks usually lead back to caffeine, so while Reign may work, it’s highly dependent on if you have the tolerance to manage its absurdly high caffeine content.

If you happen to be caffeine-sensitive, you wouldn’t exactly want to start your day with a can of Reign, as it’s a lot more likely that you’re going to get a headache instead of an energy boost.
