Unleashing the Xyience Energy Drink: A Thorough Review

In brief, I give Xyience Energy an 8 out of 10 rating in this review. The reason is that it has a good taste, is affordable, and comes with a sugar-free formula.

If you’re looking for a sugar-free energy drink with a good flavor, Xyience might be what you’re looking for.

But of course, the question is, how good is Xyience Energy Drink in comparison to the other energy drinks out there?

Xyience Energy Drink Calorie Content

Xyience Energy is calorie-free, which means that it won’t add up to your daily caloric intake. However, that also means that it won’t give your cells any energy to work with, either.

As a zero-calorie energy drink, Xyience is perfect for you if you’re looking for a quick energy boost but not the extra calories that come with most other sugary energy drinks.

This makes Xyience a pretty good drink to complement your diet.

That being said, your body does need a substantial amount of calories per day, which is somewhere between 2000 to 2500 calories, depending on lifestyle choices and biological factors.

As such, it’s not the best idea to treat Xyience (and energy drinks in general) as a meal substitute because it can potentially lead to adverse effects if consumed regularly.

A boost from Xyience is certain, but the after-effects of the drink might cause you to crash more severely than normal. If you want to maximize the benefits of your Xyience Energy Drink, it’s ideal to consume it after a hearty meal rather than on an empty stomach.

For more information on zero-calorie energy drinks and some alternative suggestions to Xyience, have a look at the article I’ve written previously.

How much caffeine does Xyience have?

Xyience Energy contains 176mg of caffeine.

For reference, a 16 fl. oz can of Rockstar and Monster both have 160mg of caffeine. Therefore, Xyience is only slightly above the average, and certainly nowhere near the likes of G Fuel Cans or Bang (300mg per 16 fl. oz).

Of course, it’s not really about how much caffeine is in an energy drink, but how well your body can adapt to the stimulant.

As such, you might find Xyience’s caffeine content to be the perfect amount for you depending on your tolerance.

I prefer my energy drinks to have somewhere between 50 to 100mg of caffeine per serving, which is just enough to give me a boost, but not too much that I might experience any side effects.

The FDA approves a caffeine intake limit of no more than 400mg per day. Any more than that might lead to notable caffeine-related issues such as:

  • Restlessness and shakiness
  • Insomnia
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Abnormal heart rhythm
  • Dehydration
  • Anxiety
  • Dependency

Given that a 16 fl. oz can of Xyience only has 176mg of caffeine, you should be able to have 2 cans without having any issues but having any more is definitely a bad idea, especially if you’re caffeine-sensitive.

In any case, so long as you’re not having too many cans of Xyience per day and aren’t having other caffeinated beverages alongside it, the risk of side effects is pretty low.

Does Xyience Energy Drink Use Artificial Sweeteners?

Xyience Energy uses the zero-calorie artificial sweeteners sucralose and acesulfame potassium.

Sucralose and acesulfame potassium won’t add anything calorie-wise to your diet, which is a good thing if you’re someone who watches that aspect of your diet.

That being said, not much is known about the long-term use of artificial sweeteners, and there are plenty of discussions about it being harmful to you in the long run.

In any case, the FDA has approved sucralose and acesulfame potassium for general use. As long as you’re not consistently having too much of it, you can definitely enjoy the sweet taste of Xyience without guilt.

If you’re not too fond of artificial sweeteners, go for all-natural energy drinks instead!

Xyience Energy Drink Vitamins

Xyience does contain its fair share of vitamins for an energy drink, notably vitamins B3, B5, B6, and B12 in varying doses.

In recent years, B vitamins have become a staple in any energy drink, so it being part of Xyience isn’t really all that surprising.

I listed some of the more general info on B-Vitamins in Xyience in the table below. If you would like more information on B-Vitamins, check out the website by Harvard here.

Other Ingredients

Ginseng Root Extract

Ginseng is a natural herb that’s used in a variety of remedies and culinary dishes, being a pretty common ingredient in energy drinks such as REIZE and GURU as well.

Among the potential benefits you may get from ginseng includes:

  • Increase energy
  • Sharper cognitive function
  • Anti-inflammatory effects
  • Lower blood sugar

Apart from rare interactions with certain drugs, ginseng is perfectly safe for general use and consumption, so it’s not an ingredient you should be overly worried about.

All About Panax Ginseng!

Guarana Seed Extract

Hailing from Brazil, guarana is a pretty common ingredient among energy drink circles, having a supplementary role (such as in Rockstar) or being the very feature of the drink itself such as in V Energy Drinks.

As for what it does, guarana is known for assisting in focus and improving overall cognitive function.

While guarana can be seen as a sneaky way of adding more caffeine to your drink, there’s really no harm in guarana being present in your energy drink, so, bottoms up.

L-Carnitine

L-carnitine is an amino acid that’s produced in the body, which helps turn fat into energy.

A pretty sufficient amount of it is already produced by the body. While it’s a nice plus to have in Xyience, it’s pretty redundant, especially if you have a fairly healthy diet and lifestyle.

Is Xyience Energy Drink healthy?

While Xyience Energy Drinks aren’t strictly healthy in the purest sense of the word, they are a lot better for you than the often overly sugary/caffeinated fare you might find off the shelf.

As a sugar-free, low-calorie energy drink, Xyience is definitely healthier for you than, a can of Monster.

That being said, just because Xyience is healthier than your average energy drink, it doesn’t exactly mean that it’s healthy.

Having too many cans of Xyience a day may lead to some notable jitteriness and discomfort due to all the caffeine, not to mention the artificial sweeteners present as well.

While Xyience can give you a boost, make sure you’re not relying too much on it for your daily caffeine fix. My advice is to keep your overall energy drink consumption to a reasonable limit.

Side Effects of Xyience Energy Drink

For most energy drinks, drinking too much of them can result in some pretty nasty side effects. The side effects range from simple discomforts like headaches to serious illnesses, and in some cases, even death.

On my end, I wouldn’t suggest drinking Xyience Energy sloppily even though it’s sugar-free because you may not fully know your tolerance to the ingredients.

Xyience energy drinks have a high amount of caffeine (179mg), which if taken in excess, may result in various complications related to caffeine overdose.

Also, Xyience contains artificial sweeteners instead of added sugars. Artificial sweeteners must be taken in moderate amounts as they can be highly detrimental to your health if overconsumed.

Some of the typical side effects of overconsuming drinking energy drinks in general are:

  • Obesity
  • Fatigue
  • High blood pressure
  • Caffeine addiction
  • Kidney failure
  • Diabetes
  • Death

I’d say that if you start feeling these symptoms after drinking Xyience energy drinks, stop and consult a doctor immediately.

Can you drink Xyience every day?

I’d say it’s fine to drink Xyience energy drink every day as long as you drink it in moderation.

Considering the high caffeine content of Xyience Energy and the use of artificial sweeteners in them, I wouldn’t suggest drinking more than two cans a day.

Caffeine and artificial sweeteners both have their own sets of negative health effects. You must make sure to not cross the FDA-recommended caffeine limit and maintain a low consumption of artificial sweeteners.

If you want a detailed analysis on whether you should drink Xyience energy drink every day or not, check out this article.

Xyience Energy Drink Flavors

Xyience has a pretty good variety of flavors for you to choose from, with most of them being of the fruity temptation:

  • Cherry Lime
  • Mango Guava
  • Frostberry Blast
  • Fuji Apple
  • Blue Pomegranate
  • Cranberry Razz
  • Fruit Punch
  • Tangerine
  • Melon Mayhem
  • Wild Grape

What does Xyience Energy Drink taste like?

The taste of Xyience is fruity in nature (like Celsius), and more refreshing, which may appeal to you if you’re not too fond of the classic energy drink flavor of Monster and Red Bull.

While Xyience doesn’t have an extensive flavor line-up as Rockstar or Monster, its fruity flavors are pretty great to the taste buds, not to mention that the energy drink does pack a serious energetic punch.

The texture of Xyience gives it a very smooth finish and is quite unlike the usual, almost syrup-like consistency of Red Bull or Monster.

All-in-all, Xyience is a pretty crisp-tasting energy drink that’s a definite change of pace from the regular fare. If you’re looking for something fruity, you can’t go wrong with Xyience.

Xyience Energy Drink Price

A usual 16 fl. oz can of Xyience Energy Drink costs you on average $1.50, not taking into account shipping costs and promotional events.

For $1.50, Xyience is relatively cheap for a zero-calorie energy drink, given that the price range for those usually hovers around $2.00 (such as Bang and G Fuel Cans).

As such, while Xyience is slightly pricier than your regular fare, it’s still a reasonable price for the healthier energy drink you’re getting, which definitely outweighs a couple of cents.

All-in-all, Xyience is pretty affordable, and its reasonable price allows you to try it out before really committing to it long-term.
