Hype energy drink is produced in the US, Canada, and the Netherlands. The brand has been popular for years, especially in the racing world.

What’s gaining Hype all the attention is its ingredients. It has a whopping 28g of sugar, 120 calories, 80 mg of caffeine, and B vitamins. Therefore, while taking Hype Energy, the first thing you should remember is not to take too much.

Throughout this article, I’ll be sharing the recommended safe limit of the main contents in Hype Energy. Here’s to enjoying the hype without any pesky side effects!

Read on.

What is Hype Made of?

First off, Hype Energy doesn’t use artificial colors and preservatives. All of Hype Energy’s components will keep you going the same way as its other variations contain a mix of the same vitamins and natural flavorings.

Nutritional Information of Hype

There are eight B-vitamins, and Hype got all but one. B Vitamins make sure your body’s cells are functioning correctly. They also help the body turn food into energy while creating new blood cells. They can also keep your brain cells and skin cells healthy!

Hype also contains sodium. This compound can help you with your workout because it’s essential for your muscles and nerves. Moreover, it can help your body control your blood volume and pressure.

How Much Caffeine is in Hype Energy Drink?

A can of Hype Energy contains 80mg of caffeine. Most energy drinks have 85-150mg of caffeine, so it should be enough to give you an energy boost.

As you may know, caffeinated products can enhance your focus and strength.

While this amount is safe, consuming too many cans of Hype can jeopardize your health. This is why the FDA advises not to take more than 400mg of caffeine per day.

If you exceed this limit, you might suffer nausea, headaches, and diarrhea. Aside from that, you might also experience excessive tiredness, focus difficulty, and irritability.

Caffeine can have both negative and positive effects.

How Many Calories Are In A Can Of Hype?

There are around 120 calories in a can of Hype Energy drink.

The recommended calorie intake is around 2,500 for men and 2,000 for women. Consuming any additional beverages with 100 calories and more can make you gain additional weight.

Watch your calorie count.

Therefore, if you have already consumed the daily recommended calorie intake, avoid consuming Hype Energy on that day.

With that being said, I’d recommend taking Hype in the mornings. This way you can adjust your calorie intake later on that day and burn the calories off during your morning workouts.

Aside from caffeine which can help prepare your body for work, you can also get energy from calories. I see Hype as really ideal for those who want to build their muscles or those who do heavy workout routines.

But if you’re on a calorie-restricted diet, it might be better if you look at other calorie-free brands or opt for Hype’s calorie-free version!

How Much Sugar is in Hype Energy Drink?

Hype Energy has 28g of Sugar, which is quite a lot.

Sugar is also another source of energy, but you do have to be careful with your intake. I’ve made a table below that illustrates the recommended calorie intake for men and women!

GenderSugar Amount
Female24g
Male36g
AHA recommendation of how much sugar per day is allowed to your body.

As you can see, Hype’s sugar content exceeds the limit for females. Going above the AHA‘s sugar recommendation can cause sugar crash symptoms. While taking two cans of Hype Energy still has a safe amount of caffeine, I can’t say the same for its sugar content.

For this reason, I suggest you only limit yourself to one can of Hype Energy per day to avoid the following discomforts:

  • Hunger
  • Irritability
  • Fatigue
  • Discomfort
  • Anxiety
  • Headaches
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Excess sweat

How to Stop a Sugar-Crash

If you consume excessive amounts of sugar, you may experience some sugar crash symptoms. Believe me, a sugar crash can ruin your day so if you do find yourself having one, here are some tips to cure it!

  • Drink a glass of water
  • Eat a fruit
  • Eat more protein
  • Sleep well
  • Avoid excess stress

Some of these tips can cure caffeine crashes as well, such as drinking water and having a good sleep.

Is Hype Energy Drink Vegan?

Yes, Hype Energy is suitable for vegans. It’s also gluten-free and lactose-free. If your tummy is sensitive to dairy products that contain gluten, Hype Energy won’t cause you any discomfort.

Vegan diets require that you don’t consume any dairy or animal-based products. If you’re a vegan, rest assured that Hype’s ingredients are suitable for your lifestyle!

Aside from that, Hype is also GMO-free. This means that none of the ingredients are genetically-modified. Several studies have claimed that GMOs could have negative side effects like triggering allergies.

Nevertheless, no other extreme side effects on human health have been shown in countries where they have been approved.

Hype Energy Flavors

Here is Hype’s flavor line, along with its non-sugared version.

  • Hype Energy Twisted
  • Hype Energy Mojito
  • Hype Energy Ice Berry Max
  • Hype Energy Twisted (Tropical Punch)
  • Hype Energy Enlite (Zero-Sugar)
  • Hype Energy MFP ( Zero-Sugar)
  • Hype Energy MFP ( Non-sugared version)

Where to Buy Hype Energy?

Hype Energy Drinks are not that hard to find. They’re available at any local convenience store or gas station.

Apart from that, it’s also budget-friendly. You can purchase Hype Energy on Amazon or their website for about $1 per 8.4 fl oz can. That’s pretty convenient!

You can usually get them in packs of 6 or 12 cans.

Alternative Energy Drinks to Hype

If you don’t buy the hype around Hype, you can always check out other equally-worthy brands!

Red Bull

Before my fave, let’s start with Red Bull, available at any convenience and online store at around $2. The contents of Red Bull are similar to Hype Energy and Red Bull also has zero-sugar versions.

Besides having 80mg of caffeine, it’s also packed with B Vitamins. They also have almost the same amount of sugar. If Hype has 28g, Red Bull is only at 1g lower, 27g. It’s packed with 110 calories, around the same amount of calories as Hype too.

Aspire Energy

It also contains 80mg of caffeine for only $1.40. Aspire Energy can give you a good lift while improving your physical and brain performance on any busy day.

Aside from the caffeine, it also has B-Vitamins and Choline. These two are organic and water-soluble compounds that are essential to many bodily functions.

This energy drink is good for you if you follow a strict diet because it doesn’t have any sugar and calories. This energy drink is also vegan-friendly.

REIZE (My Favorite)

REIZE is a powdered energy drink that’s also sugar-free! It’s rich in vitamin B, taurine, and inositol, which could keep you up and running for at least three-four hours.

REIZE Energy Drink Sachet
REIZE Energy Drink

Aside from this, it’s also convenient to carry because it comes in handy 4g sachets. You can mix REIZE in cold or hot water, which will turn it into an instant energy drink that is tailored to your taste.

What I love about REIZE is that it only has 50 mg of caffeine and 11 calories, which means it has fewer risks for side effects and still delivers a great energy boost!

You can get REIZE for only around $1 and you can even have your orders shipped straight to your door.

Try REIZE now and enjoy its refreshing taste!

Conclusion

Hype Energy’s moderate caffeine content is advantageous. On the other hand, I prefer energy drinks with 50mg of caffeine to be safer. Considering that I don’t have a high tolerance for caffeine, it works best.

The downside of Hype Energy for me is its high sugar content. And aside from B-Vitamins, it actually lacks other contents like electrolytes, choline, and minerals. However, it’s a good thing there’s a Hype Energy with a no-sugar option, and it’s affordable.

Overall, it’s a pretty affordable and good energy drink. But there are better energy drinks available on the market with additional benefits.
