Nutritional Information of ZOA Energy

Aside from that, its electrolyte content, sodium, is at 200mg. According to this article, you can only consume up to 2,300mg of sodium per day. This makes Zoa a good drink, for it can help maintain your bodily fluids in balance with just the right amount.

What are the Ingredients in ZOA Energy Drinks?

Additionally, Zoa Energy also uses the following ingredients:

  • Carbonated Water
  • Sugar
  • Citric Acid
  • Sodium Citrate
  • Amino Acids (l-leucine, L-glutamine, L-valine, L-isoleucine, L-arginine, L-citrulline)
  • Natural Flavors
  • Beta-carotene Color
  • Stevia Extract
  • Potassium Citrate
  • Vitamins (Riboflavin, Ascorbic Acid, Cholecalciferol Niacinamide, Folic Acid, Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamin Hydrochloride, Cyanocobalamin)
  • Magnesium Lactate
  • Green Tea Extract
  • Natural Caffeine
  • Acerola Juice Powder
  • Choline Bitartrate
  • Camu Camu Extract
  • Tumeric Extract

Turmeric extract is a medicinal herb for treating inflammation, pain, and wound healing. This makes it ideal in Zoa because working out might get you wounds and internal pain or muscle inflammation.

However, according to this study, a turmeric powder added to foods is unlikely to give you meaningful health benefits. The said study also calls for additional research in the future to know more about its potential health benefits.

Therefore, whether it contributes to Zoa or not, you’ll only know after trying it.

How Much Caffeine is in ZOA Energy Drink?

A can of Zoa Energy has 160mg of caffeine.

It belongs to the group of energy drinks that uses a moderate amount of caffeine, such as Rockstar and Razorwire.

It’s equivalent to your two or three cups of coffee. Although it may seem like a lot for other people, it’s not that dangerous.

According to the FDA, you can take up to 400mg of caffeine per day. If you consume above this suggested dosage, it might lead to the following side effects:

  • headache
  • insomnia
  • irregular heartbeat
  • muscle tremors
  • nervousness
  • irritability
  • frequent urination

In short, if you take three cans of Zoa Energy, there’s a high chance of experiencing the said side effects. That said, your caffeine tolerance level plays an important part in this. Some people have high caffeine tolerance, while others don’t.

Just to be sure, don’t take more than what you would need for a day.

Is There Creatine in ZOA Energy Drink?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t have creatine

While many energy drinks contain creatine, no specific guidelines would tell you it’s required.

Besides, I think the BCAAs, along with their caffeine, are enough to get you through a long day. Moreover, it has brain-supporting nootropics that could enhance your cognition, such as camu camu.

I bet you haven’t yet heard of camu camu. Watch this video to know the excellent benefits you could get out of its plant.

Is Zoa Energy Drink Sugar-free?

When it comes to sugar, ZOA Energy has 23g of sugar.

This is a significant factor in why its five flavors are equally tasty. In addition, it has natural flavors too.

While sugar can be a good source of energy, too much sugar intake can have harmful effects on your body. According to this article, sugar is only safe if you consume less than 30g per day.

If you go over that limit, you might experience sugar crashes, making you sleep all day. At first, it could give you a lot of energy boost, and as if by surprise, you would feel the energy drops suddenly.

Does ZOA Have Stevia?

Yes. Apart from sugar which is Zoa’s primary sweetener, it uses stevia extract for more sweetness.

They got their stevia from Stevia rebaudiana leaves. While Zoa already contain calories, the stevia extract didn’t contribute any. It’s a zero-calorie sweetener which means it’s appropriate for your diet.

Again, this doesn’t mean you can consume a lot of Zoa Energy. Stevia also has side effects if consumed excessively. Some of its side effects include:

  • kidney damage
  • gastrointestinal symptoms
  • allergic reaction
  • hypoglycemia or
  • low blood sugar

Remember, Zoa already has 23g of sugar. And while this amount is not dangerous, it’s still a lot.

When it comes to vitamin content, Zoa Energy has a lot too.

How Much Does Zoa Energy Drink Cost?

The mentioned information might have to wake up your curiosity. It’s a good thing you can get 12 cans of Zoa Energy on Amazon for around $30.

This means that each can cost around $2.50. For me, it actually costs a lot. I usually go for energy drinks with prices ranging from $1-$1.50 per serving.

Zoa Back Label

But if you have the budget, there’s no problem going for Zoa Energy drinks. Besides, it has five fruity flavors. You can check my Zoa Energy drink review on this link.

Zoa Flavors

As I’ve said, Zoa Energy has five flavors, and all of these contain the same amount of caffeine:

  • Original
  • Wild Orange
  • Super Berry
  • Pineapple Coconut
  • Lemon Lime

Alternative Energy Drinks to Zoa

If Zoa Energy doesn’t satisfy your energy requirement, you must try the following energy drinks.

Reign

This energy drink is promoted as ‘Total Body Fuel” because it has all you need in a pre-workout drink. It’s rich in BCAAs, B-complex, and a whopping 300mg of caffeine.

Just like Zoa, it also contains 200mg of sodium. However, it doesn’t have any sugar. This is one of the strongest energy drinks you can find at the market today that’s priced at around $1.60 per can.

I guess as long as you don’t have any health issues and you have a high tolerance for caffeine, Reign wouldn’t have a destructive effect on your body. Just keep in mind not to drink more than one can of Reign per day.

Rip It

Like Zoa, Rip It has 100 calories and 160mg of caffeine. It also has sodium, Vitamin Bs, and taurine. It’s pretty effective too.

In fact, there’s a study involving Rip It wherein the researchers have proven it to help prolong stamina. However, although the content is somehow similar to Zoa’s, it lacks natural supplements and sugar.

It’s also pricey. One can of Rip It can cost up to $2.

REIZE

REIZE is my top pick since it has a perfect blend of caffeine at 50mg. I like energy drinks with a low amount of caffeine because that means I’m still allowed to mix another one.

Besides that, it also has no sugar and only 11 calories, guaranteeing that you will not encounter any awful effects. Additionally, it has taurine, ginseng, and B Vitamins, useful for your physical and mental functions.

The Bottomline

Generally, I think Zoa Energy drinks have many unusual yet healthy ingredients. For me, it has a perfectly measured proportion of calories and sugar.

Given the high amount of caffeine and sugar, I don’t think Zoa wouldn’t work. You’ll get a perfect lift in energy from its other nutrients too.

On another note, I’m not totally fond of using natural sugar along with other sweeteners. But it should be fine for you. Just make sure to consume it responsibly to avoid harmful outcomes.
