Unveiling the Truth Behind Rockstar vs. Coffee

Unveiling the Truth Behind Rockstar vs. Coffee

If you want something new but still gives a tremendous energy boost and an enjoyable experience, Rockstar may be the one for you.

If you can drink one or more cups of coffee every day, I think you can manage the 160 mg caffeine of Rockstar Energy drink. These two beverages are more than just their caffeine contents though. They both hold a whole lot more benefits and advantages.

Rockstar contains more caffeine and calories than the average cup of coffee. But both drinks still fall within the recommended limit. However, Rockstar’s calorie content is not recommended for those who are on diets. Rockstar’s micronutrients are also added with the specific intent to help with your workouts.

So the important question right now is which of the two is better overall? Let me answer this question by giving you facts and information about Rockstar energy drinks and coffee.

Let’s get into it!

Rockstar energy drinks are available in three sizes: 8.4 oz, 16 oz, and 24 oz. The nutritional facts below are from a 16-ounce Rockstar. If you have one with you, you can also see these printed on the backside of the can.

Ingredients in Rockstar Energy Drink

You’re probably wondering, what’s really inside a can of Rockstar that makes them refreshingly delicious and healthy? Here’s what Rockstar energy drinks are made of:

  • Carbonated Water
  • Sugar
  • Citric Acid
  • Taurine
  • Caffeine
  • Inositol
  • L-Carnitine
  • Panax Ginseng Root Extract
  • Riboflavin

To be more specific, these are some of the ingredients with their roles and benefits. And why do they become my top three favorite ingredients?

All of them are highly beneficial to our health, and they have their roles and benefits. But these are my favorite among them because they’re innovative and ingenious:

L-carnitine is an amino acid that promotes energy for your body by oxidizing, or burning in layman’s terms, long-chain fatty acids. This chemical may also help treat your heart and renal problems.

Panax Ginseng Root Extract is another ingredient I usually look out for since it helps in reducing inflammation and not just strengthening your brain functions. Some studies concluded Panax Ginseng helps in improving psychophysical performance.

The third and last on our list is Inositol, a nutrient naturally found in plants, fruits, and vegetables. This substance not only helps you maintain your blood sugar levels better, but it also helps you to relax and promote fertility in women who have PCOS.

Nutritional Facts Of Coffee

Coffee is chock-full of antioxidants that help lower the risk of diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Cirrhosis.

Like energy drinks, it contains nutrients like Riboflavin, Vitamin B5, Niacin, and Magnesium.

Coffee also contains naturally-derived caffeine that boosts your metabolic rate and improves your cognitive performance.

Ingredients of Coffee

Coffee has a minimal amount of ingredients compared to your other go-to drinks, but it still serves its purpose! Here is the list of them:

  • Caffeine
  • Carbs
  • Fixed oils
  • Proteins
  • Tannin

The percentage breakdown of its ingredients is 3% caffeine, 20% carbohydrates, 13% protein, and other components.

Rockstar Energy Drink vs. Coffee

Let’s say you are about to head out for a couple of minutes, and you want to bring a drink with you.

You checked your fridge, there’s a can of Rockstar, and you suddenly realized you put the leftover coffee from breakfast into your tumbler. Which one would you grab?

I will give you a closer look at the ingredients and the caffeine amount in both drinks to guide you in making your next step.

After this, you will finally be able to put an end to this debate over Rockstar vs. Coffee once and for all!

Calories

A can of Rockstar has 250 calories, and on the other hand, a cup of coffee has around five calories.

So we can assume that 50 cups of coffee has the same amount of calories as a can of Rockstar. Imagine that!

Just to let you know, the recommended daily calorie intake for women is 2,000 calories per day and 2,500 calories for men.

The number of calories in Rockstar is just a fraction of the recommended limits. Therefore, you have room for extra calories even after having one can of Rockstar or 50 cups of coffee (but of course, don’t do that!).

Furthermore, I recommend coffee for those who are on a calorie-restricted diet. You get the boost in energy for just a minuscule amount of calories.

There are also low-calorie and calorie-free energy drinks available if you’re particular about your intake.

Caffeine

There is more caffeine in Rockstar than in coffee.

A 16 fl. oz cup of coffee has 40 mg, and Rockstar has 160 mg. If we continue with our manner or comparison, 4 cups of coffee have the same amount of caffeine as a can of Rockstar.

Do you actually need more caffeine? In my opinion, the caffeine you get from a cup of coffee is already enough to boost your energy levels and perhaps soothe your tensions a little.

Despite their differences, both quantities are under the daily caffeine limit of 400mg.

This table will show you a brief comparison of the nutrients you would find in Rockstar and your typical black coffee in equal servings.

NutrientsRockstarCoffee

Total Sugar63g0g
Riboflavin1.3mg0.14mg
Vitamin B316mg0.3mg

Looking at this table, I could say that in terms of having additional vitamins and supplements, Rockstar outperforms your regular cup of coffee.

Pros and Cons Of Rockstar Energy Drink and Coffee

Here’s a more detailed section of the comparison between the two, wherein we will expose the good and bad effects of consuming them.

Pros of Rockstar Energy Drink and Coffee

I can give you an entire book of their advantages, but I know you’ll get bored, so here are some of the crucial things you should know.

Rockstar is known for its fast-acting energy boost. This energy drink contains plenty of ingredients that improve your body’s neurological, cardiovascular, and immunological functions of your systems.

Meanwhile, coffee is known to be anti-diabetic. Academic institutions have proven that having four cups of coffee a day lowers the risk of Type-2 Diabetes. Of course, those are cups of coffee without sugar, milk, or any additives.

Remember that you need to moderate your caffeine intake, so I recommend having just 1-2 cups of coffee a day and a can of Rockstar every other day.

Cons of Rockstar Energy Drink and Coffee

Insomnia and agitation are common adverse effects of Rockstar and coffee because of their caffeine content.

Caffeine can give you an energy boost, but it also comes with a few downsides. Excessive consumption of caffeine can cause headaches, irritability, and increased heart rate.

It’s safe to say that you must be aware of your caffeine intake all the time, especially if you are caffeine-sensitive.

The video below discusses the advantages and disadvantages of caffeine:

Alternatives To Rockstar Energy Drink and Coffee

For a brief list of other options, here are some that you can enjoy!

  • Fresh Juices
  • Green Tea
  • Ginger Root Tea
  • Vegetable Smoothies

Ginger root and green tea both provide a great deal of caffeine that gives you a jolt of adrenaline, strengthens your immune system, and reduces inflammation caused by bacteria and viruses. But let me share with you my favorite among the two, green tea!

Green tea has antioxidants and minerals that give a tremendous improvement to your health and nutrition. Thanks to the invention of tea bags, brewing tea is as easy as preparing coffee.

While most of these alternatives may not have the same effect as Rockstar and coffee, they sure are healthier and can give you more sustainable energy throughout the day.

But if you are really looking for a crossover between coffee and Rockstar, here’s my best recommendation.

REIZE (10 out of 10)

Of course, I can never let you go without sharing the best alternative, REIZE!

You usually dissolve a 4-gram sachet in a 250-ml glass of water, either cold or hot.

I appreciate it a lot because that one sachet can be enough for a quick energy stimulant. If ever I want a higher load, I can mix in two sachets and so forth, unlike most other energy drinks that have a higher amount of caffeine.

REIZE also contains all the good stuff like Ginseng, Taurine, and other vitamins.

It’s a solid experience with a product and an excellent addition to my favorites. You can never go wrong with REIZE!

Bottomline

Both Rockstar and coffee come with benefits and downsides, and it all comes down to your preferences.

Coffee has fewer frills and contains many of the nutrients that Rockstar has. Rockstar has more caffeine, so it has a stronger energy boost. However, if you are caffeine-sensitive, you may want to opt for coffee.

The most important lesson to be learned is that moderation is essential. To avoid unwanted effects, never exceed the recommended daily allowance.

Aside from that, enjoy!
