How much caffeine is in ZipFizz?
Zipfizz contains 100mg of caffeine per serving which is a good amount. It’s not too little, where you won’t feel the stimulating effects of caffeine, and not too much where it’ll cause serious side effects or discomfort.
100mg is about the same amount of caffeine that you’ll find in a cup of regular coffee.
Zipfizz’s caffeine content is definitely not a lot when compared to some of the other stronger energy drinks like Bang which contains a whopping 300mg of caffeine per serving.
In fact, Zipfizz has an ideal amount of caffeine in my opinion.
I generally find energy drinks with 50 to 100mg of caffeine to be best.
Any more than that is too much for me. Sure, I might be wired and awake, but I can’t think straight and sometimes feel like I’m getting hot flashes.
According to the FDA, you shouldn’t ever consume more than 400mg of caffeine in a day.
So, Zipfizz falls nicely below that limit and still leaves some wiggle room to allow for caffeine that you might be getting from other sources throughout the day.

Is 100mg of caffeine a lot?
It really depends on your tolerance to caffeine.
If you can drink a cup of coffee and not feel much, you’ll most likely be fine if you drink a regular Zipfizz serving.
However, if you find that a cup of coffee has a big effect on you, you might find that the 100mg of caffeine in a serving of Zipfizz will have a similar effect on you.
Is Zipfizz safe?
Yes, Zipfizz is perfectly safe as long as you don’t have a pre-existing health issue and you drink it in moderation.
My main concern about Zipfizz is the staggering 41,667% of the recommended daily value of vitamin B12.
In my opinion, Zipfizz is trying to use this ridiculous amount of B12 for marketing purposes, as if it’s a selling point or a reason to buy the product.
Actually, B and C group vitamins are water-soluble, so anything more than 100% of the recommended daily value passes straight through us and into the toilet on our next visit.
However, there is some evidence to show that “extremely high” levels of B12 can cause acne and other skin conditions.
Science shows that having so much vitamin B12 isn’t any healthier than having just 100% of the recommended daily value, and in fact, it might actually cause skin problems.
That’s enough information for me, I’ll be cautious with how much Zipfizz I drink.
How much vitamin B12 is too much?
Because vitamin B12 is water-soluble, anything in excess of the body’s daily requirements isn’t absorbed and passes through us fairly quickly.
For this reason, most resources say that there is no harm in consuming high doses.
Interestingly though, doses of 2,000mcg (2 grams) are typical for treating people with vitamin B12 deficiency.
A single serving of Zipfizz contains 2,500mcg (2.5 grams) of vitamin B12, 25% more than the dose used to treat people who have health problems.
As mentioned above, there is some evidence that extremely high doses can cause health issues.
Why should an average person who is not suffering from a serious vitamin B12 deficiency consume more B12 than the dose given to someone who is deficient?
That just doesn’t make any sense to me.
How many Zipfizz can you consume a day?
The Zipfizz packaging says to drink no more than 3 per day.
This will keep you under the FDA-recommended maximum daily caffeine intake guidelines (400mg) because three tubes of Zipfizz contain 300mg of caffeine.
However, you should also be mindful of what other caffeine you’re getting from other sources throughout the day.
More concerning to me is the massive amount of vitamin B12. I just can’t see how consuming almost 4 times the dose that a sick person would use per day can be healthy, but that’s how much B12 you’ll be getting if you have three Zipfizz in a single day.
The packaging says no more than three a day, but I suggest you consider limiting yourself to only one.
How does Zipfizz work?
Zipfizz contains caffeine which helps to improve your energy levels, alertness, and mental focus.
Within 30 minutes of drinking a serving of Zipfizz, I noticed a gentle boost in my energy levels which lasted for about 2 hours. I didn’t notice any sugar crash or negative effects that some people mention online when they are talking about Zipfizz.
Although REIZE gives me a much better energy boost, Zipfizz was still quite good.

Zipfizz Energy Drink Side Effects
All energy drinks, including Zipfizz, have the potential to cause health problems if they’re consumed in excess.
Zipfizz is sugar-free, but the other ingredients may affect some people more than others.
This is especially true if you have allergies or are sensitive to caffeine or any of the other ingredients in Zipfizz.
If you’re going to have an adverse reaction, you’re likely to experience some of these symptoms a few hours after drinking Zipfizz (or any other energy drink for that matter):
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Thirsty
- Dizzy / Lightheaded
- Nausea
If you consume ZipFizz or any other energy drinks in excess, the possible side effects that you may experience are:
- Insomnia
- Diabetes
- Caffeine addiction
- Caffeine overdose
- High blood pressure
- Poor dental health
Just like with any caffeinated product, moderation is the key to maintaining a healthy diet.
If you’re healthy, consuming energy drinks such as ZipFizz won’t cause you any harm unless you overdo it.

What are the benefits of drinking Zipfizz?
The benefits of drinking Zipfizz are:
- increased energy levels
- better concentration
- enhanced focus
- it’s a great source of vitamins
- no sugar crash
Is ZipFizz bad for you?
ZipFizz isn’t bad for you if you just have one every now and then and the rest of your diet is balanced and healthy.
Just like any other energy drinks, if you consume them in moderation and don’t have any pre-existing health conditions you will be fine.
The key point here is moderation.
In my opinion, the most “dangerous” ingredients in Zipfizz are vitamin B12 and caffeine.
I’ve mentioned above what I think about including a dose of B12 that would be appropriate to treat a chronic medical condition in a regular energy drink, but I don’t think that 100mg of caffeine is dangerous.
Also, Zipfizz definitely isn’t the only energy drink that contains 100mg or more of caffeine, nor is it one of the strongest energy drinks in the world.
100mg is perfectly fine in my opinion.
Does ZipFizz make you gain weight?
No, Zipfizz doesn’t make you gain weight if consumed in moderation.
Drinking ZipFizz will not make you gain weight. Since ZipFizz only contains 20 calories and no sugar, so it’s unlikely to be the cause of any weight gain.
On the contrary, Zipfizz might just be able to help you to lose some weight if combined with exercise due to the caffeine content. You might be able to burn more calories while exercising if you consume a moderate amount of caffeine before exercising.

Some energy drinks that are high in sugar may contribute to you gaining weight, but Zipfizz isn’t one of them.
Is Zipfizz actually healthy?
If you look at the front of any Zipfizz tube you can find the slogan “healthy energy” printed right at the top.
“Healthy” certainly plays a role in Zipfizz marketing.
But, whether it’s healthy or not is up for debate.
Personally, I think Zipfizz is not healthier or any worse than other energy drinks.
Sure, it contains a bunch of vitamins and is sugar-free, which might be healthier than many sugar-filled options, but some of the ingredients are artificial which can cause health issues if consumed in excess.
Zipfizz contains artificial sweeteners such as xylitol and sucralose which are used to replace regular sugar. These artificial sweeteners are around 600 times sweeter than sugar and may adversely affect your gut health.
Zipfizz also contains a whopping 2,500mcg of vitamin B12 per serving.
Is that really good for you?
You already know what I think.
How long does it take for Zipfizz to kick in?
Like most energy drinks, you’ll probably feel the effects of Zipfizz within about 15 minutes or so.
The effects are likely to be strongest about 45 minutes after you drink a Zipfizz because that’s about how long it takes for the caffeine to be fully absorbed into your bloodstream.
From that time, the effects will gradually wane until you don’t feel any different from beforehand.
I found the effects seemed to last me a couple of hours in total, not as long as I feel an elevated boost from REIZE.
Is Zipfizz safe for diabetics?
Zipfizz is sugar-free, so is safe for diabetics to consume.
Zipfizz contains artificial sweeteners instead of regular sugar. If you have diabetes, check with your doctor or health professional before consuming Zipfizz to make sure that it’s safe for you.
I’ve previously written about the best energy drinks for diabetics, if you’re interested to learn more you should definitely check that article out.
Will Zipfizz break a fast?
Zipfizz probably won’t break your fast, but if the consequences of breaking a fast are serious for you, it’s probably best to err on the safe side and wait until you break your fast to have your Zipfizz.
The jury is out on whether artificial sweeteners can be consumed without breaking a fast, and it appears that different people react in different ways, so it’s not possible to make a sweeping statement about whether artificial sweeteners are definitely fine for all people that are fasting.
What does Zipfizz taste like?
If you’re looking for a Zipfizz review, here are my thoughts:
Zipfizz has a wide range of flavors that can cater to different preferences. It comes in a very convenient powder form that you can take anywhere. The drink also contains a lot of micronutrients that can benefit your health in addition to the moderate caffeine for a solid energy boost.
I tasted and reviewed 10 of the Zipfizz flavors and wrote about what I thought of them. You can get a good idea of what some of the different flavors are like in that article.

REIZE Energy Drink (10 out of 10)

If you’re looking for a great-tasting energy drink, REIZE is even better than Zipfizz in my opinion.
Like Zipfizz, REIZE is also a powdered energy drink, but I find it to be more versatile with what you can mix it with (almost anything) and it’s a bit easier to carry around since the sachets aren’t as bulky as the Zipfizz tubes.
REIZE contains 50mg of caffeine, which is a sensible amount. The combination of caffeine, taurine, ginseng, and B group vitamins work together to give you a perfect energy boost, with no crash.
REIZE is sugar-free and contains fewer calories than Zipfizz. 11 calories per REIZE compared to 20 calories per Zipfizz.
At around $1 per drink including shipping right to your door, REIZE is almost unbeatable value for money and is certainly more affordable than Zipfizz.
You can choose between monthly deliveries (set and forget) or one-time purchases to suit your needs. Now THAT’S convenient.
Give REIZE a try today and you might soon agree that REIZE is better than Zipfizz.
