Lots of people are embracing a vegan diet nowadays, and since you’re reading this article, you’re probably one of them.

Maybe it’s because you feel strongly about the ethics of animal testing. Or it could be because of your concerns for the environment. It might have been what the doctor prescribed, or just a personal decision you’re making to improve your health.

Whatever your reasons may be, a vegan diet certainly has its benefits, and it’s definitely worth the effort to find out whether your favorite food and drinks are vegan-friendly.

As you can see, there really is nothing to worry about here. So if you’re a vegan and you want to enjoy a can of Relentless, go right ahead.

But please avoid drinking too much of it since it can have some pretty nasty side effects on you. This would be the case no matter what energy drink brand you take, honestly.

You can find out more about what I think of Relentless energy drink in this review post that I’ve written.

And check out the video below too for an idea of what others think of Relentless.

Relentless Energy Review

Is Relentless Energy Drink Good For You?

If you’re looking for a drink to help boost your energy levels and to improve your physical and mental performance, Relentless might be a good option for you.

However, you need to keep these things in mind too:

  • your current health status
  • how much of Relentless do you plan to drink
  • how often you will drink Relentless energy drink

I don’t think it’s wise to simply introduce energy drinks like Relentless into your regular diet if you have any ongoing health issues.

Instead, I would advise you to consult your doctor first just to make sure you won’t face any ill effects from doing so.

Meanwhile, you also need to be careful about how much Relentless you drink at one time as well as the total volume you consume throughout the day.

This is because there may be a negative impact on your health if you drink too much of it. The high caffeine and sugar content that you find in Relentless energy drinks is the main cause for concern.

Lastly, how frequently you consume Relentless is also important.

If you asked me, I think it’s better to only drink it as and when you need a boost rather than turning it into a daily habit.

As long as you remember these points, you should be able to enjoy drinking Relentless and benefit from doing so.

Is the Caffeine Content In Relentless Energy Drink Safe?

Relentless contains 160mg of caffeine in a 500ml can.

That’s quite a lot!

In general, I prefer to have only 50mg to 100mg of caffeine per serving.

I feel this is a good practice as it prevents you from consuming too much caffeine at one go which may be damaging to your health.

According to the guidelines from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), you should only drink up to 200mg of caffeine per serving. On a daily basis, you should also limit your caffeine intake to 400mg per day.

Taking all that into account, the caffeine content in a Relentless energy drink is actually okay as long as you stick to drinking one each time, and not more than two cans in a day.

The important thing is to know yourself and how much caffeine you can drink safely without suffering from any side effects and you should be fine.

Check out my other article about the ingredients in Relentless energy drinks for more information on the risks of taking too much caffeine.

Is The Sugar Content In Relentless Energy Drinks Safe?

There’s 24g of sugar in each 500ml Relentless energy can.

The National Health Service (NHS) has advised that daily sugar consumption should not exceed 30g.

Based on this guideline, I’d say it’s safe to drink one can of Relentless a day, but no more than that.

I’ve written about the dangers of consuming too much sugar from Relentless energy drinks too, so do check out that article if you’d like to find out more.

Is Relentless Peach vegan?

Yes, Relentless Peach is vegan.

It will not destroy your vegan diet as it’s free from ingredients containing dairy and other animal-based products. Also, it’s gluten-free which makes it a great choice for diabetics.

I suggest you choose Relentless Zero Sugar Peach just to be safe!

Is Taurine vegan?

Yes, taurine is vegan most of the time.

Synthetic taurine is vegan. In that case, taurine that is produced in labs such as the ones in energy drinks is considered vegan.

There is 0.4% taurine in Relentless Energy.

Are There Any Health Warnings For Relentless That I Should Know About?

Relentless energy drinks include a health warning on the back of the can.

It states High Caffeine Content. Not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or people sensitive to caffeine. Consume Responsibly.

While this doesn’t have any impact on you as a vegan, you’d need to take note of this warning if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

You should also not be giving this drink to your children.

What Are The Health Risks Of Consuming Relentless Energy Drinks?

You would only face health risks from drinking Relentless if you consume it in excess.

It is perfectly safe to drink it once in a while.

Even if you were to drink one can every day, it would still be alright as long as your overall caffeine and sugar intake remains within the recommended limits.

If you do drink too many Relentless energy drinks, you’ll very likely experience a sugar crash.

Other long-term side effects you might face include:

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Pancreatitis
  • Heart disease
  • Vision loss
  • Cardiovascular disease

Meanwhile, a caffeine overdose will cause you to experience symptoms like these:

  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Headache
  • Fever
  • Irritability
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhea

So, to avoid facing these problems, please be wise and take the necessary precautions when you drink Relentless.

Where Can I Get Relentless Energy Drinks From And How Much Do They Cost?

You should be able to find Relentless energy drinks at most convenience stores across the UK as it is manufactured in Ireland.

There are many places in the US where you can easily find it too.

If you live elsewhere, you could look for it online at places like Amazon or eBay. The average price for a can of Relentless is £1.

However, if you’re getting it online, you’d need to take into account the shipping costs involved too.

What Relentless Energy Drink Flavours Are There?

You’ll find seven flavours of Relentless available in the market:

  • Origin
  • Zero (sugar-free)
  • Mango
  • Lemon Ice
  • Cherry
  • Passion Punch
  • Apple Kiwi

If you are a fan of fruity flavours, then the range of options that Relentless has to offer will be a delight for you.

And, of course, you’ve also got a sugar-free version that’s great if you’re trying to reduce your calorie intake.

Alternative Energy Boosters For Vegans

If you decide that Relentless isn’t really for you after reading all that I’ve written here, these are some alternative energy boosters that you can try instead:

Tea

Tea is great and it contains caffeine too, but in doses that aren’t as high as what you’d find in a can of an energy drink like Relentless.

For example, you’d only get about 50mg of caffeine in a 220ml cup of black tea.

You can also have the flexibility of leaving sugar out of the equation or adding as little or as much of it as you like to your cup of tea.

Coffee

It goes without saying that this one definitely contains caffeine.

As a reference point, a 60ml espresso has about 80mg of caffeine and if you made a 200ml cup of coffee using instant coffee powder, you would be consuming only around 5.7mg of caffeine.

Just like with tea, assuming you are brewing your own cup of coffee, you can always decide for yourself how much sugar you want to put into your beverage. Or you can even leave it out altogether.

Smoothies

Another good energy booster that you can try is a smoothie. It’s rich in vitamins and makes a great and refreshing treat too.

While you can easily buy one at a cafe or restaurant, you can also opt to whip one up for yourself at home with your own choice of ingredients.

For example, you can try making a smoothie with a banana, a handful of spinach, a cup of soy or almond milk, a vegan sweetener (for example, maple syrup) and a few ice cubes.

I personally love banana and strawberry smoothies best.

Other Vegan-Friendly Energy Drinks
