To start off, we need to compare the nutritional value between G Fuel cans and G Fuel powder.

Before I explain further, for reference, the recommended daily caloric intake ranges are 1,600 – 2,400 calories a day for women and 2,000 – 3,000 calories per day for men.

As G Fuel cans have no calories at all, you won’t get energy from the conventional way like carbs but will most probably be getting it from the caffeine and other ingredient blends in G Fuel.

For G Fuel powder, it has 25 more calories than its canned counterpart, but it certainly has fewer calories in comparison to more well-known brands like Red Bull (110 calories per 8.4 fl.oz can).

Caffeine Content

A 16 fl.oz can of G Fuel can contains 300mg of caffeine, while a serving of G Fuel powder has 150mg of caffeine.

With 300mg of caffeine, the canned version of G Fuel is among the strongest energy drinks in the market, on the same level as the likes of Bang, Reign and C4 Energy.

For reference purposes, the FDA states that healthy adults can have up to a maximum of 400mg of caffeine each day, with no more than 200mg of caffeine in a serving.

Both the canned and powdered version of G Fuel is still below the maximum caffeine intake per day but G Fuel cans exceed the recommended serving size of caffeine by 100mg.

Personally, I prefer somewhere between 50mg – 100mg of caffeine per drink, and in my opinion, both versions of G Fuel contain too much caffeine for my liking.

If you’re a seasoned caffeine drinker or have a high caffeine tolerance, you won’t have a problem with either energy drink. But if you can’t tolerate a lot of caffeine or have a sensitivity to caffeine, G Fuel powder is the smarter choice.

Still, no matter how much caffeine you’re used to consuming, it’s better to avoid drinking too much. Excessive caffeine consumption can lead to adverse effects like:

  • Digestive issues

According to the AHA, women should limit their sugar intake to a maximum of 25g per day whereas men can have up to 36g daily.

However, there’s no harm in being mindful of the number of products that contain artificial sweeteners you’re consuming every day.

Although these sweeteners are considered healthier than sugar, a few studies have found that artificial sweeteners might lead to health problems like obesity and cardiovascular disease.
