Celsius On-the-go: Caffeine and Ingredients Unveiled

Celsius On-the-Go is a known mouth-watering energy drink that can help you weather a busy day. Its makers suggest that you mix one stick of Celsius On-the-go with 12 fl. oz. of water. It’s rare to find this beverage sold per sachet. Oftentimes, you can get 14 sticks of Celsius on the go in a single box.

In short, Celsius On-the-Go has 200mg of caffeine per stick with no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and it’s sugar-free.

It is quite popular along with other big brands like Red Bull, Monster, and Bang. But if you’re wondering just what’s inside Celsius-On-the-Go and what makes it different, I’ll be discussing its ingredients and expected side effects in this article!

Let’s take a deep dive!

Caffeine In Celsius On-The-Go

A single serving of Celsius On-the-go can give you 200mg of caffeine. I think it’s a pretty high amount for a powdered energy drink. The FDA has suggested that you only take 400mg of caffeine per day to avoid the side effects.

200 mg is already half of that recommendation! So I highly suggest you don’t consume two sachets in a day. This is not just because the FDA said so, but you because might want to be wary of the side effects of caffeine overdose, such as:

  • Insomnia
  • Headache
  • Anxiety
  • Agitation
  • Nervousness
  • Restlessness
  • Upset stomach
  • Nausea
  • Increased respiration
  • Increased heart rate
  • Chest pain

I understand caffeine is a good stimulant, but I don’t think excessive consumption can make it good. Remember to always consume in moderation.

Sugar Content of Celsius On-The-Go

There is zero sugar in Celsius On-the-go. However, it uses artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols in the form of sucralose and erythritol.

Out of this two, sucralose is more prevalent in any product. Why? Simply because it is 600 times sweeter than regular sugar.

It sure makes Celsius On-the-Go tasty without contributing any calories. Plus sucralose, cannot affect your blood levels, making it a go-to drink for people with diabetes.

On the other hand, erythritol is just like sucralose, except it is considered a healthier option. Therefore, erythritol is a good sweetener to have in Celsius On-the-go energy drinks.

Calorie Content

Even though sucralose and erythritol have no calorie contribution, Celsius On-the-Go already has 10 calories per sachet.

The higher the number of calories in a product, the more energy it can give you. According to this article, if you have an active lifestyle, you need a maximum of 2,000 calories per day if you’re a woman and 2,500 if you’re a man.

Consuming more calories than you can burn within a day can result in bad fats that can lead to weight gain. On the other hand, consuming too little for a diet might make you experience fatigue and weakness, especially if your body is not used to it.

1,200 calories a day diet is a popular means to lose weight. However, that amount is not for all body types. So to be sure your body won’t feel any discomfort, go with your doctor’s advice regarding this matter.

Still, 10 calories are not that much. I think you can burn more than that in just a one-hour jog, so you don’t have to worry about gaining extra weight if you consume Celsius on-the-go powder.

Is Celsius On-the-Go Energy Drink Addictive?

This beverage is very effective and quite tasty you might become fond of it. However, you can become addicted because of its caffeine content.

This is why Celsius On-the-Go and other caffeinated beverages are not recommended for children under 18 and pregnant or lactating women.

For the same reason, I wouldn’t recommend this beverage to someone who has a caffeine sensitivity, since 200mg is a lot. Even for people who have a strong tolerance, excessive use is not recommended.

Is Celsius On-the-Go Actually Good For You?

Celsius energy drink is a good energy drink because it is certified vegan.

Moreover, some of its ingredients are thermogenic which increases your body temperature, making it easier for you to lose weight. One of its thermogenic ingredients is taurine.

Is Celsius On-the-go The Same As The Canned Versions?

Celsius On-the-Go and the canned versions of Celsius only differ in form, but they have the same content. Basically, one stick is equivalent to one can.

The advantage I see in carrying powdered energy drinks is that you can take them anywhere. And just mix it whenever you feel like you want a serve. On the other hand, the canned versions have their own benefits too.

It’s already in a can, so you don’t need to carry or look for a container. I especially like powdered energy drinks because of this convenience.
