Sqwincher: Is It Safe to Drink Every Day?

Sqwincher is known as an electrolyte-rich pop. It gives your body mineral salts that reduce heat stress, causing a balance to your fluid. So if you want to stay hydrated while doing a lot of work every day, Sqwincher won’t let you down.

This freezer pop comes with unique ingredients, making it a good refreshment and hydrating beverage. It doesn’t contain any caffeine, which is unusual compared to other energy-boosting products.

Because it’s caffeine-free, I can confidently say that it’s safe to consume Sqwincher daily, especially if you go with the sugar-free variation.

You should check the nutritional label for the Original Version and the Zero Sugar on this table. As you may have noticed, Zero Sugar has a much lesser amount of each nutrient. But this isn’t everything you can find.

Is it OK to take Electrolytes Every Day?

It’s okay for as long as the electrolyte level in your body is not too high nor too low. If it happens to be less or more of what’s right, it can lead to serious health complications.

You regularly lose electrolytes through sweat and other waste products, so having an additional source other than water is helpful. According to this article, the recommended intake of electrolytes varies depending on their kind.

Here’s an easy-to-read table that can help you know more:

ElectrolyteRecommended intakeThe recommended intake for people over 50
Potassium4,700
Calcium1,0001,200
MagnesiumFor men – 320
For women – 420
Chloride2,3002,000
Electrolytes Recommended Intake in milligrams (mg).

The electrolytes present in Sqwincher are not enough to meet your daily needs. For this reason, I suggest you follow a balanced diet to get enough electrolytes for your body.

How Much Sugar Is In Sqwincher?

There’s around 11g of sugar in Sqwincher. While it doesn’t contain caffeine, the sugar in Sqwincher provides many benefits, such as giving energy and improving your mood. On the other hand, the Sqwincher Zero doesn’t have any sugar at all.

11g of sugar is just enough for your body to manage. However, it can give you harmful effects if you take sugar excessively. To provide you with an idea of how bad could it could be, here are some symptoms you can get from excessive sugar consumption:

  • Acne
  • Weight Gain
  • Type II Diabetes
  • Increased risk of heart disease
  • Toothache / Tooth Decay
  • Increased risk of depression

Lucky for you, the Sqwicher’s sugar content is no way near the AHA’s recommended maximum limit. According to them, you should limit yourself to 25g of sugar per day if you’re a woman and 36g of sugar if you’re a man.

Other types of sugar you can find in a packet of Sqwincher are sucrose and dextrose. When glucose and fructose combine, sucrose comes to life.

This element is a common sweetener in products also famous as table sugar. Overconsuming sucrose can lead to a sudden rise in your blood sugar and damage your blood vessels’ functions.

While dextrose is a simple sugar, you can get it from corn. It’s commonly used as a sweetener in baking products. It’s also effective in medically increasing your sugar level, especially if you lack nutritional content.

For me, I’m not comfortable with Sqwincher having natural sugar and additional sweetener at the same time. I suggest you carefully watch your sugar intake and only mix one to two servings of Sqwincher per day.

Still, there’s a chance that you’ll consume other products with sugar on the same day. If you’re sugar conscious, try the Sqwincher Zero. This version is still a good choice for refreshment and hydration.

How Many Calories Are In Sqwincher?

The Sqwincher Sqweeze Original 3 fl. oz serving contains 45 calories, while Sqwincher Sqweeze Zero contains only 20 calories. This means that Sqwincher is also an ideal sports drink and can aid physical workout.

After all, calorie count shows just how much energy a drink or product can give you. Just like with sugar, calorie has a recommended daily limit of only 2000 to 2400 calories if you’re a woman and 2400 to 3000 calories if you’re a man.

Just taking Sqwincher alone won’t ruin your diet. You can burn 45 calories in just five minutes punching bag boxing. However, you need to check the calories on other products you’ll consume for a day to avoid weight gain.

Aside from weight gain, here are other consequences of storing too many calories:

  • Obesity
  • Dizziness
  • Speed up of metabolism

How Often Should You Drink Electrolytes?

Furthermore, this article suggests that it’s best to take two cups of fluid two hours before any physical activity. However, if you’ll go a little extra, there’s no problem taking 4 to 6 ounces every 15 to 20 minutes during physical activities.

On the other hand, this article suggests that you can take one Sqwincher every 15-20min.

In some cases, you can also drink Sqwincher if you want to relieve symptoms of diarrhea. This study concluded that you could take electrolyte drinks if you suffer from diarrhea or vomiting. These two discomforts can cause severe dehydration, and an electrolyte drink would totally help.

That said, I don’t think you should depend on an energy drink to treat a medical condition. If you encounter these problems regularly, you should consult a doctor.

You may also wonder if it’s safe to consume right before bedtime. Well, you could even use an electrolyte drink before you go to bed. This will reduce the unpleasant symptoms of dehydration before you start sleeping soundly.

The video below summarizes how electrolytes work in your body:

Why do you need electrolytes? And why do sports drinks have them?

Are Sqwincher Packets Good for You?

Alternative Energy Drinks

It’s pretty rare for an energy drink not to have caffeine. Caffeine is a good stimulant just don’t go above the FDA recommendations of only 400mg per day, and you’ll feel just fine.

You can also go for the energy drinks in the next sections.

Raze

This energy drink has no calories and no sugar. But just like Sqwincher, it contains electrolytes with 300 mg of caffeine. Aside from caffeine, it’s also packed with vitamins and amino acids.

While it won’t make you suffer from sugar crashes, its caffeine content is something to watch out for. You should only consume Raze when you really need it, and limit yourself to one can per day.

That said, if you’re on the look for an energy drink that can help you get physically and mentally motivated for a long time, Raze won’t disappoint you.

Advocare Spark

This energy drink doesn’t also have calories and sugar. It’s also packed with B Vitamins and electrolytes that are a good combination in keeping your body healthy and fit.

It also has 300mg of caffeine. And just like Raze, this isn’t an energy drink you should go to if you’re only going to go for a walk.

However, if you’re preparing your body for a more intense workout like powerlifting and sprinting, Advocare Spark can be a great option.

REIZE (The Best)

Although REIZE is not rich in electrolytes, it’s rich in nutrients such as B-vitamins, ginseng, inositol, and taurine. It also comes sugar-free, which means you’ll not experience any sugar crashes from it.

In the same way, it has just a little caffeine at 50mg. It comes in a convenient 4g powdered sachet too that you can take with you anywhere.

Therefore, if you want to get a tiny amount of caffeine for a push, there’s nothing wrong with taking one serving of REIZE or even two!

You can get REIZE for only around $1 per sachet, and you can even have your orders shipped straight to your door. That’s amazing value for your money.
