According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), you can have 200mg of caffeine in a single serving without it giving rise to safety concerns.

For healthy adults, the recommended daily intake is 400mg of caffeine.

Personally, I prefer my energy drinks to have 50mg – 100mg of caffeine. That amount is usually enough to give me the energy boost I need to get on with my day, without overdoing it.

If we’re going by the EFSA’s guidelines, it should be alright if you consume one can of Moose Juice in a day. The warning label on the can advise doing the same thing.

I wouldn’t recommend drinking more than one can because you need to make allowances for other foods and drinks in your diet that may also contain caffeine.

Furthermore, if you have any medical conditions or health problems, you should discuss them with your doctor first before making Moose Juice a part of your regular diet.

What artificial sweeteners are in Moose Juice?

Moose Juice contains artificial sweeteners like sucralose and Ace-K (or acesulfame potassium). Their main purpose is to replace sugar in food and drinks without compromising taste.

Artificial sweeteners are substances that are used in sugar-free and low-calorie/zero-calorie foods and drinks.

This is because artificial sweeteners are sweet on their own and low in calories, thus making them suitable if you can’t have sugar or want to cut down on your sugar and calorie intake.

However, the addition of artificial sweeteners into our daily foods and drinks is controversial. Some have claimed that artificial sweeteners may lead to diseases like cancer and negatively affect your blood sugar and gut health.

But there isn’t much concrete evidence that proves these claims are true.

Personally, I’d suggest consuming foods and drinks with artificial sweeteners in moderation to avoid possible health risks in the long run.

What B vitamins are in Moose Juice?

Moose Juice contains vitamins B3, B6, B9 and B12. They’re labelled as niacin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid (also known as folate) and cobalamin.

B vitamins are essential building blocks for your body and play important roles in many bodily functions.

In general, B vitamins promote or support:

  • cell health
  • red blood cell growth
  • good eyesight
  • increased energy levels
  • healthy brain function
  • good digestion
  • proper nerve function
  • healthy appetite
  • hormone and cholesterol production
  • tone muscles
  • cardiovascular health

According to the NHS, adults need to have a certain amount of B vitamins in a day.

What are the benefits of BCAAs in Moose Juice?

BCAAs are amino acids and are comprised of three components: leucine, isoleucine and valine. They play a big role in improving physical performance and enhancing muscle protein synthesis in the body.

One 2013 study discovered that BCAA supplementation could enhance physical performance by reducing fatigue and muscle damage during exercises.

BCAAs can also help increase lean muscle mass. A study performed on 36 participants reported that during the course of their resistance program, there was an improvement in lean mass and a decrease in the percentage of body fat after they ingested a supplement added with BCAAs.

Besides supplements, you can also find BCAAs in foods like meat, eggs, fish and dairy products.

As for the content of BCAAs in Moose Juice, I’m not sure how much it’ll benefit your exercise performance since its amount isn’t stated on the can.

In my opinion, you should take BCAA supplements instead of depending on Moose Juice for your daily dosage of BCAAs.

It’s also worth mentioning that I paid to have another brand of energy drink tested in a laboratory to see how many BCAAs were actually included in a can. Like Moose Juice, that brand (Bang) also doesn’t mention how many of these ingredients are included in the ingredients.

I was shocked to discover that most of the Amino Acids that Bang claims are included in a can were not detected at all by the lab. The few that were detected were only present in tiny quantities.

I only mention this to point out that we can’t always trust energy drink brands to be honest and transparent – especially when it comes to those ingredients that they don’t say how much is in a can.

How long does it take for Moose Juice to work?

You might start to feel the effects of caffeine after 10 minutes of consuming a Moose Juice, but peak caffeine absorption into your blood happens after around 45 minutes. You may start to experience effects like feeling jittery or restlessness around that time.

Caffeine has a half-life of about 5 hours. This means if you consume 200mg of caffeine from Moose Juice, you’ll have 100mg of caffeine left in your body after 5 hours have passed.

This is the reason it’s important to consume Moose Juice in moderation since caffeine can stay in your body for quite some time.

It’s also not recommended to have caffeinated beverages within about 6 hours before you sleep as it could affect your ability to get good sleep.

How many Moose Juice can you have in a day?

You can have one can of Moose Juice in a day according to the guidelines from the can’s nutritional label. This is to avoid excessive consumption of caffeine and other ingredients which could lead to undesirable side effects.

The recommended maximum caffeine intake is 400mg in a day, with no more than 200mg per serving.

Since Moose Juice already fulfils the amount of caffeine you can have at a time, one can of this drink is the safest amount you can have per day.

I’d say follow the guidelines on the can and consume Moose Juice responsibly.

Besides, having too much energy drink is risky and could earn you a trip to the hospital.
