How Many Calories Are In Blue V Energy Drink?
Each 250ml can of Blue V Energy Drink contains 147.7 calories, which is a pretty reasonable amount.
Given that Red Bull has 110 calories per 250ml, Blue V Energy has a pretty relatively normal amount of calories for an energy drink of its size.
Furthermore, considering that the daily calorific limit for healthy adults ranges from between 2000 to 2400 calories for women and 2400 to 3000 calories for men, Blue V Energy’s calorie content wouldn’t leave a big dent in your overall diet, unless you drink them regularly without controlling your intake.
But if you’re following a specific diet or just cutting back on your calorie intake, Blue V Energy might not be the energy drink for you.
Of course, if you have a pretty active lifestyle, burning off the excess calories from Blue V Energy shouldn’t be much of a problem.
Otherwise, you can take a look at some great zero-calorie options, which are just as effective, that are mentioned in this article I’ve written here.

How Much Caffeine Is In Blue V Energy Drink?
Blue V Energy Drink has 78mg of caffeine in each 250ml can.
Caffeine is an integral feature of every energy drink, as it’s the main ingredient that helps to keep you awake and enhance your physical as well as mental performance.
With 78mg of caffeine, Blue V Energy is a pretty moderately caffeinated drink, considering that stronger energy drinks like Bang and Reign have around 300mg of caffeine in each serving.
Personally, my caffeine preference is between 50mg to 100mg of caffeine, so Blue V Energy would give me a pretty decent boost without the overwhelming side effects.
That said, depending on your caffeine metabolism, one can of Blue V Energy might not be enough for you, so you may have to drink around two cans to get its full effects.
Now, while Blue V Energy may have pretty reasonable caffeine content, it’s important to keep in mind that the FSANZ recommends a daily caffeine limit of up to 400mg for healthy adults.
An excessive intake of caffeine would lead to adverse effects such as:
- Fatigue
- Anxiety
- Muscle breakdown
- Insomnia
- Digestive issues
- High blood pressure
Hence, be sure to moderate your overall Blue V Energy intake and try not to double down on caffeinated drinks within a day in general.
Bear in mind that caffeine is a great energy booster in moderate doses, but once you go over the limit, it can lead to some serious problems.
How Much Sugar Is In Blue V Energy Drink?
Each 250ml can of Blue V Energy Drinks contains 34.6mg of sugar.
Although it may not sound like much, but in truth, Blue V Energy is pretty loaded with sugar.
For context, the recommended daily sugar limit for healthy adults and children above 11 is up to 30g. Considering its sugar content exceeds the daily limit, it’s safe to say that Blue V Energy isn’t the healthiest energy drink around.
Now, the sugar within Blue V Energy can still give you a temporary boost and would be a great drink to help you concentrate or push through those late-night sessions.
However, you would have to watch out for an incoming sugar crash once the effects wear off, which would leave you feeling sluggish and sleepy.
Furthermore, a high sugar intake can lead to a number of health issues such as:
- Aging skin
- Diabetes
- Weight gain
- High blood pressure
- Cardiovascular diseases
Therefore, even if you think that the amount of sugar in Blue V Energy isn’t that high in comparison to other brands, it is still better to maintain your intake to moderate levels in order to err on the side of caution and avoid any potential health problems.
How Much Guarana Extract Does Blue V Energy Drink Have?
A single 250ml can of Blue V Energy contains 300mg of guarana extract.
Guarana is a Brazilian plant that contains an impressive amount of stimulants, including caffeine, and antioxidants.
As such, you’d often find guarana in plenty of energy drinks like Monster and Rockstar due to its energy-boosting properties and benefits that include reducing fatigue and improving mental concentration.
That said, the addition of guarana extract in Blue V Energy would mean that this drink actually has more caffeine than what’s mentioned on the nutrition label, so you might want to be careful with this.
Blue V Energy Drink Vitamin Content
Blue V Energy has a number of B vitamins, which isn’t surprising considering that B vitamins are crucial for your health and wellbeing after all.
From maintaining your energy levels to supporting your nervous system, B vitamins play a huge role in ensuring that your body functions healthily.
There are a bunch of different B vitamins in Blue V Energy, which I’ve listed in the table below, along with their roles and tolerable intake levels:
Types of B Vitamins | Purpose | Blue V Energy Drink (250ml) | Tolerable Upper Intake Level |
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) | Convert proteins, fats, and carbs into energy; maintains body tissues | 1.2mg | – |
Vitamin B3 (niacin) | Helps the body release energy; keeps the skin healthy. | 7.3mg | 35mg |
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) | Produces red blood cells, breaks down food into energy | 1.8mg | – |
Vitamin B6 | Store energy from protein and carbohydrates; formation of red blood cells | 1.2mg | 100mg |
Vitamin B12 | Release energy from food; forms red blood cells; keeps the nervous system healthy | 1.4μg | – |

Is Blue V Energy Drink Bad For You?
Blue V Energy Drink is not exactly bad or good for you.
With its caffeine and sugar content, Blue V Energy could supply you with an energy boost and help improve your exercise performance as well as cognition.
Plus, Blue V Energy has a pretty reasonable caffeine content, which would complement your daily routines quite well without leading to serious side effects.
Blue V Energy also has a mysterious fizzy fruit-inspired taste, which isn’t disclosed so you can find out for yourself.
That said, Blue V Energy also comes with a considerable amount of calories and sugar, which wouldn’t be very healthy in the long term.
But if you’re mindful of how much Blue V Energy you’re consuming, you should be perfectly fine.
How Many Cans Of Blue V Energy Drinks Can You Have In A Day?
Blue V Energy (250ml) | Daily Max Limit (Female/Male) | |
Calories | 147.7 calories | 2400 calories/3000 calories |
Sugar | 34.6g | 30g |
Caffeine Content | 78mg | 400mg |
I’d recommend you to stick to only one can of Blue V Energy in a day due to its high sugar content.
While it would take around 5 cans of Blue V Energy to put you over the 400mg daily caffeine limit, a single can of this drink already contains a high amount of sugar, which exceeds the recommended daily sugar intake.
Now, this isn’t to say that you can’t have Blue V Energy every now and then. In fact, drinking two cans of Blue V occasionally wouldn’t be that bad for your health, especially if your diet is pretty balanced and full of nutrients.
You should avoid having Blue V Energy at a consistent rate, which overloads your system with too much unnecessary sugar, leading to plenty of health-related illnesses in the long run.
In any case, as long as you’re moderating your consumption of Blue V Energy, you shouldn’t face any negative effects from drinking it.
Alternatives To Blue V Energy Drink
If Blue V Energy Drink isn’t to your liking, here are some great alternatives that might tickle your fancy:
Powdered energy drinks would be good options too, since they’re more affordable, plus you can adjust your servings according to your preferences:
- Zipfizz
- G Fuel
- Advocare Spark
- REIZE (my favorite)
REIZE (10 Out Of 10)
While Blue V Energy is good, you might find it to be too sugary for your liking. So, how about something that’s sweet without the sugar and unnecessary calories?
REIZE is a powdered energy drink that comes in light 4g sachets for your convenience. Unlike Blue V Energy, REIZE is sugar-free and has only 11 calories per serving, along with a sensible 50mg of caffeine.
REIZE is also packed with a smart blend of beneficial ingredients such as ginseng, taurine, and B vitamins that work together to give you a smooth boost without the dreaded sugar crashes.
Best of all, REIZE delivers to your home for just $1 per drink, which is pretty amazing value for money.
Give REIZE a try, and you might agree that it’s the smarter and more optimal choice than Blue V Energy.
