Discover the Best Energy Drink for Dominating in Video Games

Discover the Best Energy Drink for Dominating in Video Games

You might be wondering how exactly energy drinks help, and which one to choose as your trusted gaming companion.

Long story short, I think the best energy drinks for playing video games are Celsius, G Fuel, Mountain Dew AMP, and REIZE.

Read on to find out why I think these energy drinks are the best to have when playing video games!

Things to Look for When Buying an Energy Drink

Caffeine

Caffeine is one of the most popular stimulants in the world and it’s crucial in giving energy drinks their energy-boosting properties.

The FDA proposes a hard limit of no more than 400mg of caffeine per day to avoid nasty side effects, such as:

  • headaches
  • insomnia
  • nervousness
  • irritability
  • frequent urination or inability to control urination
  • fast heartbeat
  • muscle tremors

On top of keeping within the limits, it would be important for you to know your personal caffeine tolerance to identify the right amount of caffeine that works for your body.

Especially when choosing an energy drink as your video game companion, having the right choice may be the key to victory, so make sure you keep an eye out for the caffeine content in your energy drink of choice.

Sugar

Sugar, an instant energy provider is an important factor in an energy drink. Choose an energy drink that is sugar-free or has very minimal sugar content.

The AHA proposes a daily sugar intake to be 36 grams and 25 grams for men and women respectively.

If you are an avid gamer who isn’t too keen on strenuous physical exercise, it would be wise for you to avoid consuming unnecessary sugar as it could lead to possible health risks, such as:

  • high blood pressure
  • inflammation
  • weight gain
  • diabetes
  • fatty liver disease
  • heart disease

Luckily, most energy drink companies have jumped onto the sugar-free bandwagon. I have shared my best pick for sugar-free energy drinks in this article.

Though it’s undeniable that consumption of sugar would give you that instant boost in energy, it may also lead to an equally intense sugar crash.

A sugar crash may leave you feeling more fatigued than even before you had the energy drink, which I’m sure you would want to avoid during your video gaming session.

Hence, I would advise you to choose an energy drink with little or no sugar, instead of one that’s full of sugar.

Price

Besides the ingredients, the price of an energy drink is another key detail you’ll want to take note of when choosing a drink to fuel your gaming.

However, just because you want to save a few bucks, doesn’t mean you should neglect quality as it could end up affecting your performance during the game session.

Benefits of Video Games

If you aren’t an avid gamer, you might be questioning the need for an energy drink at all. In actuality, serious gameplay does take up a lot of energy and involves a high mental workload.

Contrary to common misconception, playing video games is not just a simple leisure activity, but it’s something that can even bring you a multitude of benefits, such as:

  • boost brain capacity
  • increases memory
  • makes you more social
  • improves coordination
  • improve multi-tasking abilities
  • improves attention and concentration

TED on Video Games

Do Energy Drinks Make You Better at Video Games?

Energy drinks can definitely increase your energy and focus, which are crucial for playing video games at a higher level.

As mentioned above, energy drinks contain caffeine, taurine, and sugar, which combine to give you the energy and concentration you need while you conquer your virtual challenges.

If you’re interested in how energy drinks help you in gaming, you can check out this article I’ve previously written on the effects of energy drinks on gaming too.

Is GamerSupps healthy?

Yes, GamerSupps are considered healthy if consumed moderately.

GamerSupps is an energy supplement targeted at gamers, which contains nootropic ingredients such as caffeine, as well as antioxidants such as goji fruit and ginseng root—all of which seem harmless to your body.

It also claims to be a calorie, gluten, and sugar-free supplement as well which is definitely a plus.

However, it doesn’t mean that you can have as many GamerSupps as you want as it still contains caffeine, so I would again advise you to stay well within the recommended maximum caffeine limit of 400mg per day.

As with most things in life, it’s perfectly fine to have GamerSupps in moderation, but don’t overdo it or you might find that the negatives outweigh the positives.

What do gamers eat while playing?

These are snacks that can help level up your video gaming:

  • chicken nuggets
  • baked tortilla chips
  • protein shakes
  • trail mix
  • chocolate

Best Energy Drinks for Video Games

Without further ado, here are some of the best energy drinks that I personally think are suitable for you if you play a lot of video games.

I’ve compiled the key information of each energy drink in the table below:

BrandCaffeine Content (mg)Sugar Content (g)Calories

Mountain Dew AMP Game Fuel 90090

Celsius Energy Drink

With a high caffeine content, Celsius Energy Drink is definitely not one for you if you have a low caffeine tolerance. However, it’s sure to give you a boost.

On top of that, it contains no calories or sugar so you wouldn’t have to worry much about the sugar crash or the health risks.

I wouldn’t advise you to drink more than one can of Celsius energy drink per day as it would easily reach the 400mg daily caffeine limit proposed by the FDA.

More to the point, if you’re like me, 200mg of caffeine in a single can is too much and often leaves me feeling a bit rattled and unable to concentrate properly.

Definitely not ideal while gaming.

G-Fuel Energy (FaZeberry Tub)

Though it has less caffeine than Celsius, GAMMA Labs is another highly caffeinated energy drink that might be suitable for your video gaming sessions (if you have a high caffeine tolerance of course).

It’s also sugar-free, so you can drink GAMMA without any worry of a dreaded crash afterwards.

However, in my opinion, GFuel has too much caffeine. There have been several occasions where I was really buzzing (and not in a good way) after having a single-serving of Gfuel.

I don’t think it gets you into the ideal frame of mind for optimal gaming performance, but give it a try and see if it works for you.

Mountain Dew AMP Game Fuel (Berry Blast)

This gaming energy drink from Mountain Dew comes with less caffeine than the above two energy drinks but still packs quite a punch, making it another suitable option for gaming.

Indeed, as the name suggests, this drink is made with gamers in mind.

The only setback in my mind is the high-calorie content, which mostly comes from the hefty 23g of sugar per can.

This may be detrimental to your health in the long run, especially if you aren’t planning to exercise much to burn it off.

REIZE Energy Drink (10 out of 10)

REIZE
Try REIZE now!

REIZE is a suitable energy drink for any occasion and purpose, especially for playing video games.

REIZE comes with a sensible caffeine content of 50mg, which is the perfect amount to give you the perfect energy boost, without overdoing it.

It also contains a smart mix of vitamins, taurine, and ginseng, making it a delicious energy drink that you can safely drink every day.

Perhaps best of all, REIZE only costs around 1$ per drink, including shipping right to your door.

That is incredibly good value for money.

Give REIZE a try today and I’m sure that you’ll find that it’s the best energy drink to fuel your gaming sessions.
