Unveiling the Ultimate Energy Drink Combinations with Tequila

Unveiling the Ultimate Energy Drink Combinations with Tequila

We all know that alcohol can be quite fun so it’s no surprise that we’ve long been blending it with different refreshments.

In a previous article, I tackled some interesting combinations of energy drinks and alcohol that you can try out. In another blog post, I focused specifically on recipes you can do with vodka.

Now, let’s take a look at tequila, a drink that needs no introduction, and some fun combinations you can do this time for your tequila night.

But before we roll, I want to warn you that I don’t really think it’s a good idea to combine liquor and caffeinated drinks. This mix can result in you not feeling the effects of alcohol and may cause you to drink more than usual. That can lead to dangerous accidents.

Read on to know more about the effects of combining energy drinks with tequila and which energy drinks are ideal for creating appealing nighttime beverages!

Let’s get started.

Is Tequila Healthy Alcohol?

Alcohol isn’t really good for your health.

However, tequila might be a relatively better choice than some different kinds of liquor. Why? Because it has only a few calories and no sugar.

Nonetheless, drinking any alcohol can build the danger of fostering various medical issues such as the following:

  • high blood pressure
  • heart disease
  • stroke
  • digestive problems
  • liver disease

In some cases, there are also several types of cancer you could get from too much alcohol use:

  • breast cancer
  • mouth cancer
  • throat cancer
  • liver cancer
  • colon cancer

Is Tequila Good for Losing Weight?

According to this article, tequila can help you cut your weight by burning your dietary fats and regulating your blood sugar.

Tequila doesn’t contain any sugar but has a healthy sweetener called agave. This compound is produced in sugar cane mills.

Agave plant
This is a Weber blue agave plant.

This agave plant plays a vital role in lowering your blood sugar levels, making you feel fuller, and urging you to eat less.

By the way, it’s safe for you even if you have diabetes. However, some tequila uses cane sugar, molasses, or corn syrups. Of course, if you’re going to take an energy drink with sugar, that could be a problem if you’re striving to lose weight.

The AHA advises you to consume only 24g of sugar per day if you’re a woman and 36g if you’re a man. Going over these safe levels can cause weight gain, headaches, and some other problems.

Therefore, you should pick an energy drink with low sugar or no sugar, which is a better option.

Can You Mix Tequila with Energy Drinks?

You can, but this article promotes cautiousness concerning mixing alcohol with caffeinated beverages. Caffeine masks the depressant effects of alcohol and you end up consuming more and more.

In this case, you won’t feel that you are drunk at first, but then it’ll hit you like a train soon enough. This can lead to serious accidents, black-out episodes, and even more terrible hangovers.

Can You Drink an Energy Drink and Alcohol on The Same Day?

I don’t advise that you do this since there is a risk of potential side effects.

Some evidence shows that if you mix tequila and energy drinks, you may experience adverse physical and mental incidental effects before long. More so than if you drank alcohol alone. This includes heart palpitations, conceivably perilous strange, and heart rhythms.

Note that energy drinks have caffeine content. This can give you some uncomfortable experiences if you excessively consume it. The FDA already states that you should set a limit of 400mg of caffeine per day.

Taking over 400mg of caffeine per day can make you suffer the following:

  • anxiety disorders
  • bipolar disorder
  • bleeding disorders
  • heart conditions
  • diabetes
  • diarrhea
  • high blood pressure
  • loss of bladder control
  • irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • weak bones (osteoporosis)

In my experience, energy drinks with 50-100mg of caffeine content are best to avoid these side effects!

How Much Alcohol Does Tequila Have?

Before mixing energy drinks with tequila, it’s important to know about their alcohol content.

This article states that tequila contains 40–50 percent alcohol (80–100 U.S. proof).

The CDC advises that adult men are allowed to take two drinks or less a day. Meanwhile, women should limit themselves to one.

Taking more than these can make you suffer from vomiting, seizure, and mental confusion.

It’s always wise for you to drink moderately. Just a shot or a glass is enough for the day.

Does Tequila Go With Red Bull?

You can pour Red Bull and tequila into your favourite glass half-filled with ice cubes. Add lime juice, and it’s ready to serve.

Actually, Red Bull appears to pose a flavour like a sharp, soft drink blended in syrup with a sweet tang. For this reason, there’s no doubt it’ll go nicely with tequila.

You can also read one of my articles to know more about Red Bull’s taste.

Energy Drinks That You Can Mix With Tequilla

Here is a list of energy drinks that would go well with tequila. But remember, moderation is key!

Red Bull

I bet it’s no longer shocking that you can mix Red Bull with tequila. It’s a famous combination. Besides, there’s what you call Vodka Red Bull

It has 27g of sugar and 80mg of caffeine. Take note that it has quite an amount of sugar. However, you can also use the sugar-free version of Red Bull, which can be a much better choice.

XS Energy

XS Energy contains no sugar and has only 80mg of caffeine, making it a decent pair for whatever hard alcohol you need to toss in.

It has only 10 calories too, so no sweat at all if you’re on a diet.

The Tropical Blast flavour is a favourite of mine and the sweet tangy taste really makes a nice contrast with the strength of tequila. It’s also lightly carbonated, so the drink will go down smoothly.

Zipfizz

Zipfizz comes in small tubes so you can easily add the powder to a glass of tequila and you’re good to go!

Zipfizz contains just 100 mg of caffeine and no sugar, making it an ideal drink if you want the tequila flavour to stay.

As I mentioned earlier, energy drinks with 50-100 mg of caffeine just hit the right spot for me and it’s definitely wise to keep caffeine as low as you can when mixing it with alcohol.

That said, make sure not to take over three mixes to avoid caffeine overdose symptoms.

Final Say

Just to reiterate, mixing energy drinks with alcohol can be dangerous.

It’s important to keep your head clear when you are partying and drinking mixed drinks like this. Exercise restraint and moderate your intake!

As long as you keep it to just one to two glasses, combining energy drinks with alcohol can be an adventurous activity.

I suggest that you choose brands with a low caffeine and sugar content, as well as a pleasant and sweet flavour to offset the tequila’s burning taste.

And even without alcohol, energy drinks can be enjoyable too.

Don’t forget to try REIZE, my favourite brand, for a next-level energy drink experience!
