Bawls: Comprehensive Dive into Its Caffeine and Ingredients

Bawls: Comprehensive Dive into Its Caffeine and Ingredients

If you’re looking for a herbal and tasty energy drink, Bawls can be the perfect fit for you. This energy drink is already in business since 1996, and it became more popular as time progressed.

You can have this energy drink in a 10 fl oz glass bottle. But if you prefer the canned version more, they also have it in a 16 fl oz can.

One can of Bawls has 102mg of caffeine taken from guarana berry, which has a lot of benefits to your body. This beverage contains sodium and sugar, but it doesn’t contain any vitamins.

Although this is the only new and outstanding element in Bawls, you can expect to get a different energy. It might be distinct compared to other brands.

Let’s find out more.

This energy drink doesn’t contain any vitamins, such as vitamin B, which is pretty common in many other brands. However, Bawls still claims to provide a healthy energy boost mainly because it uses guarana berry.

You can get Guarana berry from the famous Amazonian Rainforest. The indigenous people residing within the Amazon are probably the first beneficiaries of this plant.

This plant is known to have caffeine in it. Therefore, it’s fitting to assume that people used this for alertness and energy boost long before it was scientifically discovered.

But aside from the energy boost, what are its other benefits? Watch this video to know what it can do to your body:

Bawls Ingredients

Bawls energy drink ingredients are similar to other energy drinks and popular soda because of some of its contents:

Does BAWLS Still Exist?

Yes. Although Buppert, the founder of this company, left the company in 2009, the company still exists. According to him, Bawls stands for “Brazilian American Wildlife Society,” which actually makes sense because one of its main ingredients is harvested from the wild.

Bawls Guarana is now produced under the Solvi Acquisition. But it’s still that premium, a non-alcoholic, carbonated beverage like it always has been.

It’s actually a soda and energy drink in one loved by many.

How Much Caffeine Does A Serving of Bawls Have?

If you get the bottled version, it only has 59mg of caffeine. Meanwhile, the canned version has 102mg. Whichever you take, I think one serving of Bawls energy won’t give you caffeine crashes

Besides, caffeine is an effective stimulant that can provide your body with the right boost of alertness and excitement. This explains why a cup of coffee can put you up to start your day because it has 80-100mg of caffeine which is somewhat similar to Bawls caffeine content.

How Much Caffeine is Too Much?

Although 102mg is not that high, you still have to be wary of your consumption. The FDA advises you to drink less than 400mg of caffeine per day. If you really can’t help it, keep your intake at two cans or bottles only.

Or else you’ll suffer from caffeine crashes with the following symptoms:

  • Headaches
  • Excessive tiredness
  • Palpitation
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Nervousness
  • Irritability

Does Bawls Energy Have Sugar?

Bawls energy has 28g of sugar. While sugar is a good source of energy, taking too much of it might take a toll on your energy levels itself. This article suggests that it’s only safe for your body to take 30g of sugar per day.

One can of Bawls energy contains quite close to what’s suggested. For this reason, I don’t think it’s safe for you to take Bawls energy regularly, especially if you’re prone to getting sugar crashes.

Sugar crashes happen when you’ve over-consumed sugar, and it makes your body tired after several hours. What differentiates it from natural exhaustion is that your energy will drop suddenly and not gradually as it’s supposed to.

Aside from that, here are some of its side effects:

  • Diabetes
  • Weight gain
  • Obesity
  • Sugar Crashes
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • High blood pressure
  • Skin Aging

For this reason, I usually turn to energy drinks that have no natural sugar. I’m also okay with energy drinks that use artificial sweeteners because they can help enhance the taste.

And aside from that, it has other benefits such as good for maintaining weight.

Cup of sugar and coffee.
Sugar and caffeine.

Does Bawls Contain Artificial Sweeteners?

Yes, it does. It uses an artificial sweetener called sucralose. It has no additional calories, plus it can effectively enhance the flavors of any product. Although it is artificial, it is generally approved by the FDA, which means it is safe to use.

Bawls also contains another sweetener called high fructose corn syrup. Unlike sucralose, it does contain some calories.

For this reason, I think sucralose is better than high fructose corn syrup. There have been studies that showed that consuming high fructose corn syrup can promote overeating and obesity. That said, if you don’t consume products with it regularly, you’re less likely to develop obesity.

Besides, if you take high-calorie products, you really have a higher tendency to gain extra weight. This is why you have to make sure that every calorie that gets in your body is being used.

Does Bawls Contain Calories?

Bawls has around 190 calories. Compared to other energy drinks, this is quite a high amount. But no worries, it won’t give you any harmful effects as long as you

For your reference, a woman needs 2000 calories a day whereas a man needs 2500 a day. You need to make sure that you’ll burn all of the calories you have taken in the same day by doing some work.

It won’t help your body to eat many calories without any physical work. In addition, work that requires your mental ability burns calories as well. However, it only does for a minimal amount compared to exercising.

While cutting your diet can also help you maintain your weight. Still, cutting your calorie diet up to 1500 a day isn’t advisable for most people.

Anyway, you should check with your doctor if your body can handle such. In the case of consuming Bawl energy drink, you can quickly burn the calories by swimming and running.

Energy Drink Alternatives to Bawls

If you think that Bawls’ sugar content and lack of vitamins will not suit your diet plans, here are some other alternatives you can have. In my opinion, my favorite could be your bet as well.

Red Bull

Red Bull energy drink has 80mg of caffeine which is lower than Bawls Energy has. It’s also famous because it has B vitamins and taurine that you won’t find in Bawls. Moreover, it has 27g of sugar, that’s a bit lower than Bawls’.

Even though it lacks artificial sweeteners, it has sucrose and glucose, making the beverage taste exciting and sweet. It may taste like a soda for many, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to treat it as one.

AMP Energy

AMP energy is publicized under the Mountain Dew brand. For a short outline, a 16 fl oz can of AMP Energy has 220 calories, 58g of sugar, and 142mg of caffeine, alongside different supplements like B-vitamins. Additionally, it has substances that incorporate ginseng and guarana extricates.

This energy drink is only for people with an active lifestyle. As you can see, its ingredients are loaded with a power boost enhancer you can get from its calories, sugar, and caffeine. It’s an excellent pre-workout drink that could get you working for hours, so don’t take it casually.

However, make sure you can handle it. I suggest you assess your tolerance first by taking only half on the can and letting the effects settle for hours. If you’re still okay, then you can finish the rest.

REIZE (10 out of 10)

REIZE is a wonderful energy drink that comes in a convenient sachet. I think it’s in a more flexible form than Bawls, plus it’s a healthier option for me.

It has B Vitamins, taurine, and ginseng that you cannot find in Bawls energy. Moreover, it’s sugar-free with only 50mg of caffeine. Not only it’s suitable for your diet, but it’s a good option for avoiding sugar and caffeine crashes.

Conclusion

Bawls energy drink is a great energy drink with a good look and taste. It can be an excellent alternative to your cup of coffee because of its caffeine content.

However, suppose you’re worried about the presence of high fructose corn syrup. In that case, there’s nothing to be afraid of for as long as you take it occasionally and only when necessary.

Overall, I find no wrong in Bawl’s effectiveness and ingredients. On the other hand, it would’ve been much better if it contained taurine and B vitamins.
