For your reference, you only need around 2,000 to 2,500 calories a day, depending on how active you are and biological factors, age, and even metabolism.

Generally, the recommended daily calorie consumption is 2,000 calories a day for women and 2,500 for men. That said, it’s also important to know that medical professionals suggest lowering your calorie intake to watch your weight.

If you’re on a diet, getting AMP is not a good idea as it might destroy your appetite and even increase your weight. It’s pretty similar to the calorie content of Monster with 210 calories. You’ll need to work your body out to burn the calories you get from AMP.

It’s also essential to remember that no energy drink can replace a regular, healthy meal. Even if AMP offers many calories, it still doesn’t provide enough nutrients for you to skip a meal.

For your comparison, Rockstar and Monster both have 160mg of caffeine, so it means that AMP is on the average when it comes to content. Though, you still need to regulate your consumption to avoid overwhelming effects, and headaches.

Remember, the FDA approves a 400mg per day caffeine intake limit a day. Any more than that might lead to side effects such as:

Every 16 fl.oz can of AMP Energy drink, and you will get 58g of sugar. It goes beyond what you normally get in drinking energy drinks. And, I am not also a fan of sugary drinks because I always go for sugar-free drinks; it’s healthier and more manageable.

The AHA recommends a daily sugar limit of no more than 25g for women and 36g for men. AMP Energy drink goes beyond the recommended limit. Consuming too much sugar can lead to alarming and disastrous consequences like:

  • Obesity
  • Weight Gain
  • Type II Diabetes
  • Sugar crashes
  • Increased risk of heart disease
  • Tooth decay
  • Kidney damage
  • Increased risk of depression

If you want to be have AMP Energy, it would be great if you cut down your overall sugar intake. Also know that the 58g of sugar is roughly 4 full tablespoons of sugar. It’s not something that you can take for granted and carelessly take. In my opinion, having one serving of AMP energy is enough for the whole week.

It’s an orange juice without any water in it. It gives you a sour concoction. Though it may not sounds like a treat, it is processed where the fiber is filtered out.

While I can’t be too sure about the specific amount of Gum Arabic present in AMP unless I do a lab test regarding it, the Gum Arabic that you can get in AMP energy serves as a stabilizing agent that helps you manage your calories.

Taurine

Taurine is another common ingredient that you can get in energy drinks. It’s an amino acid that helps you with the overall function of your body.

Although it’s been greatly connected with Red Bull, taurine is a common beneficial energy drink ingredient. It helps your body handle your nerve growth and lower your blood pressure.

Panax Ginseng Root Extract

As an artificial sweetener, HFCS can surely develop the taste of the AMP energy drink. However, I would advise against consuming it because of its adverse side effects. Consuming too much HFCS can cause the following:

  • Risk of getting a fatty liver
  • Unnatural amount of fructose in the body
  • Obesity and Weight Gain
  • Diabetes

With the excessive amount of sugar in AMP energy, I think HFCS as an additional additive is too much to handle. The good thing is, you’ll not get any unsafe amount of HFCS in a serving of AMP energy. Though I would advise that you stick to one can of AMP a day to prevent any side effects.

In my opinion, you can still enjoy AMP energy in moderation. Like having a can once a week. And once you do, it would be great if you regulate your overall sugar consumption. Drinking responsively helps you manage your body and lower your risks of experiencing health problems.
